I hope i'm part of the silent majority...
To all those who say "we like/love lab" :
I) Is it because you find the arcade gameplay fun? II) Is it for the loot it offers ? in other words as a farming place? III) Is it because you find it aesthetically pleasing? (soundtrack, lore, graphical environment etc.) IV) A combination of the above? Personally i find it aesthetically pleasing as well as the best farming place in the whole game, even more when you see it from time/difficulty point of view. I cant though stand the arcade feeling (even the creators compared it with super metroid, frogger, and prince of persia) and how it is forced upon us in order to get the ascendancy classes. In general i find lab a positive addition to the game, but not as a mandatory content to get the AP as currently is, i would prefer if it was an optional farming/racing content. Second part of questions for those interested in sharing honest feedback and/or having a conversation. 1) If GGG was to reallocate/remove the AP completely from lab and put them elsewhere would you mind? Would that change how you feel about the lab? 2) If GGG was to create similar difficulty but classic ARPG style alternatives for AP (like putting them as a bonus for the new areas bosses with 3.0 or something else) while also keeping them in the lab, would you mind? Would that change how you feel about the lab? Thanks in advance. Inundated with cockroaches, I am

@Zaludoz: Well at some point it should have been pared to remove people who had their issues addressed. And also people who's problem was not the lab but the trials. GGG addressed the trap damage scaling with ES and made trials accountwide instead of per character. The person maintaining this list says he's just a record keeper so he only adds people, never removes unless they ask for it. It's kinda funny that people didn't even know they were on this list so don't even know they need to ask to be removed.

@Regulator:
1. I am not an arcade gamer much, but I started playing ARPG long ago. Started with Diablo 1 actually, and there were traps in Diablo 1 and in most ARPG I know. 2. I like the big loot at the end of the lab but, the enchant table + the ascendancy points are the things I am looking for. 3. If you ask me what I like the most from the lab it's the stress factor from the traps and also how it feel so different from the rest of the game. The lore the ambiance and the mechanics, sometime I get bored I do a little run in the lab to break the repetiting gameplay. |

" IV. I enjoy all three, especially I - it's a continuation of the trend started in Closed Beta with the Act 2 boss, "Vaal Oversoul," where the Action part of ARPG comes out - you have to dodge things and time things and it's all quite satisfying. I enjoy mindless autopilot gameplay from time to time, but when mindless autopilot becomes the norm, then the demand for some degree of character control challenge is very, very welcome from time to time. 1) Depends on what the new method was. 2) Not really, I guess? I suppose it still depends on what the new method is. It'd feel kinda awkward to gain Ascendancy Points just for completing the story, though, assuming Acts 5-10 are just like Acts 1-4. "So... you're just handing me power? Um... does my work on this character even matter then?" - I tend to find power earned more satisfying than power arbitrarily given, and Act Bosses, historically, have not really been as demanding of good character customization and control as the Labyrinth. " I like the labs too. It's a different type of gameplay from the usual map grind. Good change of pace and on top of that you can charge 5c per person for a rush and boom, 25c richer in 15 mins. I love it. |

I like the mechanics hate the implementation of the ascensions tied to it .

I consider lab a a leveling area and do it mainly for the Ascendancy Points, only once and forget about it.
Should GGG consider to move the AP's to another ingame area i will probably skip the lab entirely. I like metroid but not in an ARPG envelope. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks |

What about this: T1/Normal lab still offers 2 AP, so it is still "ascension trial" in general and players would learn how to run the labs for at least once, while the other 6 AP is given by other ways (such as act5/act 10 boss killing and passing the T9 temple). The cruel lab is meaningless IMO.
People who don't like the Labyrinth are not a minority: Be heard - say you don't like it in your signature. Don't leave complaining about lab to others - GGG needs to see how many people dislike it. Ascendancy must be gated on true ARPG content, not a poorly-crafted internet Legend of Zelda wannabe.

I'm happy there are varied likes but for me the only thing that ruins it are the moving traps. I'm not patient enough to not just run through all of them and get constant heart attacks from health slipping :)
