[2.6] NOT HoWa Claws / Lightning Strike 300k+ ToolTip / 74|50 Dodge / SUPER Cheap / starter friendly

off-topic:
Spoiler
I stay away from Hardcore anyway. Too many deaths due to lag, sometimes bugs and having to roll each map super carefully endgame and sometimes broken mechanics that get fixed after the league ends meh... I see no joy in that anymore since I ripped my last dual wield char to a desynch + ice nova box during Beyond League (long time ago, before they nerfed ice nova) and it did over 8k damage through all resists (so it must have done at least 32000 raw damage!) and failed block roll. They balanced it at the end of that league but I already died as did many others. I wasn't even the one who opened it some dick opened it and I quickly jumped away only to get desynched back into it...

You WILL die at some point playing HC no matter what. Only a very few pro players with a good currency pool (probably donations as well) with lots of experience will be able to actually survive long enough to get to lvl100 I guess. But even they sometimes die due to dc/lag/bugs/etc.

Thanks for the detailed answers!

Helmet/Gloves/Boots
-Whirling Blades
-Faster Attacks
-Fortify
-Frenzy <<< ?

Why frenzy? Is it to get the fortify up on bosses? I don't even have free slots in my toolbar for frenzy (I use portal gem because I absolutely hate carrying TP's around).

Also isn't there a better skill to temporarily replace L-Strike with to take down really really though bosses with tons of HP?

All by all I advise taking a corrupted 6L (costs only ~8c) with proper colors over a tabula AND over a L-coil unless you can really afford one because it's sooo expensive.
I also believe that a 6L is better than a 5L L-coil because you could always put fortify/leech in the 6th socket and it could potentially be more effective than an L-coil + L-coil does not protect vs lightning, cold, etc. damage. And physical is rarely the problem for me it's usually some elemental/chaos attack from some map-boss or invasion boss. But okay if you are rich, go L-coil (starts at 7ex and usually 12+ ex).

You could technically run this build for only 8c + 2alc for weapons and 1c for atziri promise total and you have a 6L setup with 30-70k ish damage I think (but no chain) and faceroll most content.

Mainly to keep frenzy charges up 24/7. It resets the timer with just one hit, and also let's you build up all 10 charges faster if you are at 0. Fortify gives some defense while building up charges when you don't have the extra 20% dodge chance. I use the portal gem in my offhand slot.

As far as I know, I think Lightning Strike will be the best skill for ST on this build. Since it is built around full lightning conversion, Lightning Strike/Static Strike are the only two I know that can be used to full potential, and lightning strike has higher base damage. Maybe vinktars would help for the additional 10% penetration?

Yea, I'm running a corrupted 6L on the new league and it's great. Last time I played was Prophecy HC and it took over a month before I could use the 6th gem. I'll probably stick with it for a while until I'm able to afford LC. I'm not too sure about the current mechanics but physical damage was what has always killed me for EV builds back then.

how do you maintain the mana with no mana leech on tree or a mana flask ?

For leveling, I took the 'Life and Mana Leech' node at the duelist for .4% mana leech. If you're looking at the late game build, the mana leech comes from the 'Soul Raker' node on the right side of the tree. It was one of the buffed claw nodes in 2.6 and gives .8% mana leech as well as 1.2% life leech. You can drop the point from the duelist when you're ready to switch to 'Soul Raker'

Edit For Better Wording:

I am following your guide got most of the gear shown and of course some different things currently level 78 in Legacy League, wanted to know a few things. What are some gear choices you think this build could run with more currency to spend like HH for example, would think this ever could be CI viable? Could this build use HOWA's. Thanks in advance.

Hi, i was thinking about doing this build and i have 3 questions. Does the LGOH from the claws work from the lightning strike projectiles? Do the lightning strike projectiles actually chain? They seem pretty random. Have you ever tried spectral throw with this build instead of lightning strike. You tree seems pretty universal if you wanted to switch over to spec throw, you would just need to respec into like 3-5 different nodes.

I dont know how good it would be, but here is what i would do. respec out of Master of the Arena and probably all of the vitality void life leech nodes. Spec into Sniper, and Ballistic Mastery. If you wanted to increase your dps a little more for either spec throw or lightning strike you could spec into Will of Blades, Claws of the Pride, and Twin terrors, you would have to respec out of a lot of stuff tho, not sure if the trade off would be worth it.

Head Hunter would definitely be fun to use. You can actually get a small feel of what it'd be like by using the 'inspired learning' jewel. Place it on the socket by the ranger and grab 'Survivalist' (Drop Cloth and Chain' at the duelist) and 'Acuity'. With the fast clearspeed on the build already, you can stack up the mods pretty fast, making it a great jewel for solo mapping. I don't think CI is possible for this build for the following reason:

Having high dodge chance is essentially the core mechanic of the build. It makes dual wielding more viable and Vaal Pact optional. Going CI would probably mean having to give up that all up. You also lose the LGOH bonuses on the claw implicits, which was buffed on 2.6 and now gives more than a level 20 LGOH gem. You basically have an 8L on your main attack if you go life over CI. You also don't have to worry too much about stun.

HoWA goes well with CI from all the int stacking, so the build wouldn't be the same. The tree would probably be significantly different as well.

As for more expensive gear choices, there's not really much I can think of. Atziri's Acuity's might be an option if you want the instant leech. +1 to frenzy charges on the boots and amulet would be really nice. Hopefully that helps

1. Yes, I believe it should work. It's very noticeable when your life is low and you launch the projectiles into a mob. Your health will instantly jump back to full. With all the chaining happening, the amount of life you get is pretty insane. It'll feel like you have vaal pact when there are multiple guys.

2. They do chain, you can sometimes see the projectiles bouncing back and forth. Another thing I forgot to mention is quality on lightning strike. 20% quality gives a 40% pierce chance and if it triggers, the projectiles won't chain. You can balance the quality on lightning strike to your preference. Especially with the 'Allies cannot die' mod, it might be nice to have some chance of piercing.

3. I haven't tried it yet but I do think it could work. Just a few changes in the tree and some gem links I believe. Also maybe stay with physical damage instead of full elemental conversion and find some way to poison.
