Eh I guess he must be using good dps jewels then because I can't see any other way him getting more than 2 times dps than me in town without conc effect.

30k in HO actually sounds pretty awesome if its with inc aoe. IIRC I had somewhere between 16-18k tooltip in HO with inc aoe on 5l (didn't use any jewels though).

Inc AoE without quality gems and no level 20 gems. We of course get more benefits from flasks including a very important additional projectile from dying sun.

You also have to factor in Elemental Overload. That is up constantly and is 40% multiplicative effect. The tooltip doesn't account for it in HO and actually lowers the tooltip dps because crit multi isn't taken into account because it doesn't exist.

The raider build does take more damage nodes so I would expect the tooltip to be higher given the nature of how each build gets its damage. That being said, it has a much smaller hp buffer. Pretty much what has been stated here.

Also, I am severely under-optimized on jewels. I need more attack speed.

For referece, with 5L mathil has 41k in town and 56.2k with Frenzy charges, and his gears are really budget, like no WED on rings, no helmet enchant etc. So with proper gears and 6L (elemental focus) I think mathil's build can reach 70k+ in town.

For me, at lvl 74, I have 43k in town with 6L. I am using five 3 damage mods + resist jewels though. At lvl 74 I cannnot equip opal/steel rings and crystal belt when I reach lvl 80 dps would be much better but still...

You are level 74 but you have pretty decent gear for that level too. Every DPS gem is 20q, well itemized stuff like attack speed on gloves, phys/acc/wep ele on rings and you have the helm enchant.

I really need to get phys on one of my rings at minimum.

Qualitied up gems sitting at 33k. Looking for some more IAS.

His jewels have only 3 damage mods. But his tree has about 450 increased damage, 57 ias and 4 jewels, and with jewels it is about 555 increased damage and 65 ias.

To compare, my CI tree has 134 increased damage, 52 ias and 7 jewels, one of them is for energy from within. So you can see there is no chance I get as high damage as mathil's tree.

Etup's tree has 162 increased damage, 64 ias and 5 jewels, again one for energy from within.

So life build definitely has more dps, but for example, mathil's charactor has only 5700 life where for CI it is fairly easy to get to 9k I think. We have no ES from amulet, no shield, so without GG gears it is hard to push to very high ES and you also need to balance between ES and dps nodes.

Your rings are pretty good. I think for GG ring you want to have opal ring with prefix being flat ES, WED, ES% and suffix being fire damage, accuracy, resists, so no room for flat phys.

Yeah, it is tough to find super gg Fire damage rings.

Optimizing some stuff right now. With a 15% enchant helm and better jewels I am sitting at 43k in hideout. Wasting some jewel affixes trying to get res im missing from gear.

Definitely can get much higher in hideout if you have perfect gear, but who does. Sacrificed some ES nodes to get my jewel slots earlier but I'll be back around 10.4k soon.

I struggle with resists a lot, especially cold resists. So I decide to use Taste of Hate instead of Basalt. I won't have curse immune but in this way I don't have to get 169 cold resists, 135 for both fire and cold should be fine since Dying Sun and Taste of Hate should be always up during mapping. And you may want to use Taste of Hate for -max maps anyway. The only crucial curse imo is silence which only affect spell casters.

I think in the end I will have about 5k cyclone dps with aoe but no chance to achieve 10k ES.

I will use the following rings and belt which are just brought from previous characters.

Spoiler

That is a good point. Taste can definitely reduce gearing requirements. Do you find Steel rings better than Opal?
