Yes, i use it. No, no +life stats on both helms. I got enough int/str/dex. No single aura turned off. Again, 2% jewel works.

So with 3% helmet and 2% jewel you have 155 life unreserved
with 5% helmet and 2% jewel you have 157 life unrserved

Thus you should have 155 life unreserved if you use the 5% helmet without the jewel.

I'm guessing that the 2 extra life you get with 5%+2% comes from a 2 mana cost reduction for Clarity, while all the other auras stay at the same percentage.

Just tested it out with Alpha's Howl.
1) No helm + 2% jewel = 41hp
2) 3% helm + 2% jewel = 155hp
3) 5% helm + 2% jewel = 157hp
and, attention!
4) 8% alpha + 2% jewel = 271hp

And now, the funny thing.
5) 5% helm + no jewel = ... 155hp!

Is it some kind of hidden breakpoint?

Well 3+2 and the 5% has the same effect, so it's not strange that both are at 155 hp.

What happens with the alpha is that the mana reservation from your auras go from something like 14% to 13%, which is 8% decreased life reserved in the end.

As I mentioned earlier you can use the aura calculator to easily spot when an increase to reduced mana reduction helps. I inlcuded the link below. Just combine the reduction from the skill tree and helmet and put it at Reduced mana in the "Skills, items, and options" field.

I finally made a good 5% helm and was able to drop the jewel - thanks for the input. This made a big difference as I was able to fit yet another es, minion dmg and cast speed gem in, pushing my ES just shy of 11k. These help a lot because the cast speed is kinda bleh until you can get things rolling. I also switched my boots back and played around with some gear to cap res instead. The middle tree res nodes to the gem slot are helping a lot here, I can highly recommend them if people are in the higher 90s with no luck on high ES + res gear (unless you like dropping 10+ex per piece).

I also turned an aura off and did grandmasters again. I was able to do the whole thing deathless except 1 single exile. I believe this exile was pure defense (max block/spell block). I just could not kill him after an hour of trying, couldn't even dent him no matter what I tried. Oh well! At least I was able to do the rest of it. I had heard that some of the exile builds were impossible for some builds - i'm just happy I could get that far.

I need to give uber atz another shot. After reading some comments I realized I had onslaught BS on as well. I was able to get to her but just got destroyed every time. I'll have to give it another shot without stupid things on me haha.

Just got my hands on a United in Dream, but I actually feel like it's not a big deal as damage improvement... Anybody feel the same ? (I was quite disappointed to be honnest...)

I personally felt the exact opposite. Are you making sure to CAST the envy aura? It's not automatic, it gets added to your aura list to cast manually. Not only was the up-front dmg noticeably higher, but the poison dot they do makes anything they hit constantly drain at a big rate. I wouldn't do this build without it myself.
Yea, I casted Envy of course, but maybe it is more noticeable on T13+ maps...

I mean, it wasn't like they were doing double dmg all of a sudden. It was the affect of adding another damage aura is all. The only exception is the bonus of the poison dot on top of it.

On lower tier maps your spirits should more or less 1-hit most stuff, so you will not really feel the difference there. If you want to increase the clear speed on lower tier maps then crafting rings with %increased minion movement speed is the way to go. On big HP mobs you should however feel a quite big difference from the poison, especially as it is being double dipped atm from our increased minion dmg.
