[3.1] SRS LL Auramancer in-depth guide

Thoughts on the viability of this as a league starter? I'm interested in this to help out my friends since they tend to use off-meta builds and could use a bit of support, yet I'd like to be able to hold my own compared to a dedicated auramancer. That said, it seems you need dedicated gear (Solaris Lorica, preferably 5L with a Jeweller's Touch) to really start being a true support, which seems very... expensive at the start of a new league.

What are your guys' thoughts on this? Should I start Harbinger with a different league with more lax gearing requirements at this rate?

I really hope that there is a way to keep this build alive. It just feels like such a loss going from 80% to 30% for auras, not to mention the attack speed (I only ever got to 8 auras). I had hoped to start the league with this again, but now I have no idea what to do. RF and sunder are boring and I can't figure out my lightning ele prolif elementalist idea :(
Anyway, good day gents. Hope I don't end up running golems...

The new way is SRS Life with Baron helmet.. ;) But not so powerful as this was i think.. This build still should do fine just with a bit slower pace, but requires more currency to put into the build (10% breach spawn rate, means crazy prices for chayla blessings for amulet/weapon) and high es boots/gloves/helmet with the nerf requires a lot too, to keep decent ES. Probably way easier to go Baron Life version and maybe someday to swap (at least thats what im going to do :) )
Ah yea, baron still looks nice. I ran baron with big zombies last league and it was really fun, but that AI is so bad...

However, I never thought about baron SRS. Depending on what the streamers promote that might be a really decent starter without crazy investment.

I wanted to try a SRS build for quite some time now and I decided to go with your build, so far I'm enjoying it a lot and it's very safe and strong! I could get the ascendancy with it at lvl 31, I hope the damage didn't get hit too strong by those nerfs, or at least I hope it's still viable after them because I'd love to take this to endgame :)

Thank you for sharing this awesome build!

I'm glad that you like the build =) The build did get hit by the nerf train, yet with investment it should still be viable for most if not all content.

Well, I wanted to thank you again for this build. It seems like that aura nerf is really going to hurt us, but I was able to get further than I ever had using this build. I never had a chance to get a UiD, but it sure was fun trying.

We're actually losing more from the CoD nerf than that =\ The increased damage is atm affected by aura effectiveness, so with 8 auras where 3 is supported by generosity it gives you about 130% increased damage. In 3.0. It seems like it'll be a fixed 30% that's not affected by aura effectiveness, quite good for regular summoners but not for auramancers.

I don't think that it'll kill the build but as PoB isn't updated yet I haven't checked out the new figures. The +3 bow setup should still be able to do a lot of damage eitherway.

I think that it's easier to start the league with the Baron SRS compared to the auramancer SRS, even if the auramancer SRS did okey in the beta. As for myself, I'll try out the new skill gems before making another SRS. Starting with Charged Dash.

Why additional accuracy?

According to PoB it's one of the stronger support gems, as long as you are not using Empower or a +3 bow.
