Seriously, stop with patch notes. Knowing them in advance won't change anything and if anything, it will take away time that could be used to complete the game.

Well, posting patch notes isn't really taking time off the game O.o They probably already have them written, it just takes them the effort to copy them over here.
If they don't post the patch notes, it's only for the reasons listed in the OP. |

Without being able to plan ahead for 0.9.6 via updated passive tree preview or patch notes, just using the time to leave feedback on everything experienced in game up till now. Skills, Support Gems, Orbs, Difficulty, Monsters, new Keystone ideas, etc. No desire to log in, bored.
