Just advising him the option. Hubris is def a safer option. You get pretty butt hurt if someone prefers something you don't :P

My ES currently is 9.5k and if I add Abyssus its like 8.5k

If you add hubris to your build its like 11k ES. So its a false equivalence.

You compare with same gear with only change being helm to make fair comparison.


After all getting hurbis allows you to get damage in other places instead of more ES. Instead of 300ES gloves you can get 250ES gloves with physical prefix. Or use Doryani's belt instead of Crystal belt, etc


If he is complaining about being squishy, and prefers a safer build where the damage is already plenty good enough for all content then Hubris a valid suggestion.

Plus using a hubris is much easier for most people to get their build capped and geared so is great advise for someone not as rich (no life) as YOU. hah

but come on, u r turning things around. If I would use a hubris I would not put that much points in ES and u would do get more ES nodes if u went with Abyssus ofc
so u can only compare those versions the way I did, like they r built in reality, otherwise it woulnt make sense.
and yea, using a shield is probably the better option.

anyway, how comes that u think ur allowed to say that I or anybody else with more currency than u dont have a life, or using expletives so easily?

On legacy there are a lot of 500es shields with 1 or 2 high resists for less than 10ex, or 400es for a few chaos.

Another decent suggestion (which i'm surprised you even made). But I'm not sure if going single claw/shield is more damage than hubris/double claw. MORE modifiers from dual wielding, and all the bonuses of the second claw. Is that less damage than an Abssyus? Plus factoring in the increased physical damage taken.

I'm not sure. I'm def curious though, but am at work so I can't check path of building right now.

thats what my path of building says, and when I watch unchained it looks like the budget version already does more than the dw scourge hubris version.
just a feeling, havent checked it yet, so I cant confirm.

the increased phys dmg taken doesnt matter with 10-11k Es when using a shield and AA.
anyway, Ima go sleep, can't test it anyway, maybe u can serve some results and calculations?

I am struggling with getting frozen, is Kiara's the answer here? Any other suggestions? And if so which flask should I swap out for Kiara's?

edit: Also, I swapped out scourge for 1h claw and shield so slightly different build but overall based off the same tree

Depending on your gear/stats, you could get a diamond flask that gives you freeze immunity.

At least with my build, Hubris is better than shield. These numbers are with no flasks/buffs and only helm/shield/claw swaps. But numbers are same with buff/flasks and 'effective' only larger.

Tooltip is higher with shield but total damage falls because of the way lower attack speed with shield. So IMO double claw Hubris is better option than single claw/shield. Especially for clearing when you "one tap" enemies and can get 2-3 stacks instead of 1 stack with a single click with the higher attack speed.

Make sure you have the right config. Turn on power charges and maimed on in config and see what you get.
