2.4.2 Effect Artifact / Disco Inferno
So far, the only effective solution, for me anyway, is to use the original 32 bit DX9 client.
|
|
Minor update, I forgot to report back that 2.4.3.c diminished the artifact greatly. I was seeing small streaks infrequently, and only one or two fullscreen takeovers.
Now in 2.5, I have only seen a medium sized streak and only briefly. No random small streaks hanging out at all! |
|
Definitely still happening to some degree in 2.5.0, --noasync seems to fix it for me.
|
|
Happens to me as well on DX11.
I also think there is something funky going on with Breaches. The way mobs turn invisible when you walk out of the area and some glitches with the effects |
|
I have experienced this issue since the DX11 release came out. As many people have mentioned this seems to be related to any overlay effect (which for reference you asked in the known problems thread if it was a bigger issue, and it could be if this is related).

Only happens with specific mobs with some effects looks like. Radeon Software Version - 16.10.2 Radeon Software Edition - Crimson Windows Version - Windows 7 (Service Pack 1) (64 bit) System Memory - 8 GB CPU Type - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz Graphics Chipset - AMD Radeon (TM) R9 390 Series |

Same issue here. There are more threads about this. Also Win 7 here. Problem only with directx9 ex/directx10.
So either i have to play with shit fps and graphics on directx9 or I have to retart my client all day with directx10. Never had those problems n any other game b4. Win 7 64bit i7-4790k AMD R9 390 16gb ram |

Confirmed here same issue.
Resolved partially (so far) with the --noasync launcher in options I7 2600k 16gb ram R9 270x + 7970 Thanks for the hard work getting dx10 in tho, huge performance increase on my AMD cards |

AMD FuryX user here, dx11 client has fixed all my performance issues, so thanks!
I too encounter these visual glitches / flickering. Its not only mobs though. This also just happened when I walked close to the central lake in the arid lake map (the flicker was colored grey/green there, just like the lake). However, its also somewhat random as a client restart completely fixes the artifacts in one location and it does take a random amount of time until this starts reappearing. Ive also seen this triggered by somebodies burning cosmetic pets in town. I have this suspicion that this happens in the same locations where the dx9 client would drop to 5fps instead. It seems pretty frequent in lab traps for instance that used to have absolutely horrible performance when there was burning ground segments and/or aura tower thingies.
