Seems the best thing they can do is just set up a rotating schedule, that hits almost all the time zones. Run 1hr races every X hours, 2hrs every X hrs and so on, and try to get a schedule hits a majority time zones, while not worrying if theres event overlap between events of different lengths. At least using this method, everyone should be able to hit a reasonable number of events over the course of a ladder season, opposed to trying to cater specifically to certain time zones.
While this would be ideal, it's not really feasible. They have to have people to run the races and there are just certain hours that having people available just isn't convenient.

7pm EST is 1pm NZ time, it seems like that would be a perfect time to start a race, yet they don't have races starting at that time. :/

Well I was gonna be able to make the second event but now I'm not gonna get home from my work in time. I'm not sure why you guys thought it would be a good idea to move the events around instead of just adding new ones.

Someone made a great suggesting about making the races in Game Time not real life time.

not so great. people with plenty of time could use multiple accounts to do single races several times.

True, don't do that.

I was hoping that the entire process was automated by now after scheduling, but if not, then its not feasible to do that staff wise.

Wow 9 pages of whining. Obviously people don't understand that after this season is over, those uniques will not be available again with that artwork. And not everybody will have one because most people will be too busy whining about the race awards in a F2P HARDCORE ARPG to actually race. I don't know how many times GGG has stated this game is for the hardcore crowd, and that doesn't necessarily mean the >8 hours a day players, just those that like a ruthless and hardcore experience. I have nothing against "casual" players, but seriously? You come to a hardcore ARPG PC game and bitch about it not being casual enough. LOL, there's always your 360 and ps3 waiting to be played.

I for one can't wait for the races to start, and I'll be sure to use my fancy Redbeak and Wanderlust. I just wish the artwork was the same for in game appeances.

How exactly does alternate appearance matter if others cant see it (even if it were on useful Uniques)? You cant brag with it, since it looks the exact same as on other characters. As a person before me said, they just look different while sitting in stash not being used.

It is flat out not true that orb prizes cause inflation of any sort.

Look, I'm not that excited about the new prizes either, but I have direct first-hand experience that shows that the old-old race rewards (back when exalteds had the same chance of being a prize as a fusing) DID have a pretty big impact on the economy. I ended up with over 30 exalteds at one point due to race prizes. I tried selling exalteds for 16 alchs and STILL had trouble finding buyers. And this was back when people were stockpiling alchs using the old vendor recipe.

Contrast that with my experience in Open Beta: I have found a grand total of 1 exalted so far, and I sold it for 24 alchs. The person who bought it was really happy to get it for that price.

So I think your statement that it's "flat out not true" is flat out not true.

Your argument is that when exalteds were a too common orb prize that inflation clearly occurred. This is not an argument that orb prizes in general are a problem only an argument that giving out all the best orbs in a common fashion was a problem. You yourself even mentioned that these ratios of orbs given as prizes was adjusted downwards in closed beta!!! If it needed adjusting downwards again, fine, I'm not arguing everyone should get 30exalteds, but they should get something. What's clearly true is that there is some non-zero level of orb rewards which wouldn't cause inflation, common exalteds is clearly too much... so let's call common exalteds an upper bound and a scroll of wisdom the lower bound, the solution is clearly between those two points. That is the claim I was actually making here.

This is what happened, I wrote it was possible for orb prizes to not cause inflation (given the right prizes). Your counterexample was that it was possible for orb prizes to cause inflation (given a specifically chosen example)... it's entirely possible for BOTH my claim and your claim to be true! You can't prove none of column A by citing that something in column A doesn't work!
