Does that make shock nova useless now or how exactly is it changed? sounds like it got weaker to me.

I think it means shock nova is now "shock donut". No damage in the inner ring but the outer ring is the same damage throughout the "donut" area (ie no scaling as before).

Should have virtually the same average damage, u just don't have to work as hard getting mobs exactly on the outer edge. Oh and you better not try it with mobs right on top of you, which before might provide a little damage, now it would do nada.

The real bad part now is that you can't use it with the knockback support to keep the enemies far from you and in the right spot to get the best damage
well then they need more lightning based skill gems bcause that will hurt light witch's since that did most of the damage. unless they make something with skills for power charges.

Yes, I purposefully avoided talking about nerfs in this post.

Firestorm mana cost now scales appropriately with added support damages even at level 1.

NPC vendors have realized they were selling items with quantity and rarity suffixes at a loss, and adjusted their prices accordingly.

Frost Wall sections are now destructible. We fixed the previous minion AI problem, but there is a slight chance they may become claustrophobic and tear down your frost wall.

Due to a calculation error players choosing the Avatar of Fire keystone were still able to deal massive damage and survive. Spreadsheets have been adjusted and now these players will be permanently entombed in a block of ice upon logging in.

You can still use it with Knockback and get the advantage of keeping enemies away from you... What Knockback was made for.
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
First in the credits!
Yeah, the passive skill changes hsould rock. By the waay, is it possible to add colorblind mod? I see stregth nodes as a slighly different shade of dex nods and it's confusing and timeating.

With this first category of recipe, players are encouraged to learn what mods are worth what prices and to optimise their behaviour around selling those ones. For example, some mods are worth Alchemy Shards. You can sometimes buy items with those mods from the buy-vendors for only a scroll or two. It's entirely possible for a clever player to be rewarded with a guaranteed alchemy orb or two if they keep an eye on the shops as they level up.

Where is this quote from?

Who posted this?
The Lead Game Designer and Producer

So, yeah, its intended for a "clever player" (term used by him) "to learn what mods are worth" (he said that too) and "optimize their behaviour around selling those ones" (he said that too).

What are those ones?
"For example, some mods are worth Alchemy Shards".

How is intended for people to do so?
"You can sometimes buy items with those mods from the buy-vendors for only a scroll or two".

He practically gives us a tip on how he wants us to behave around the system he designed. The name of the thread is about tips and it mentions others. I recommend you to check that thread.

What mods?
He doesnt say so. But so far we know that rarity/quality and another one you didnt mentioned give alchemy shards.

In the beggining it was just 1 alchemy shard. Then they patched it to make it so sometimes you get awarded up to 7 depending on the value of the mod itself. They clearly increased the payout.

Why did they changed?
Because the system wasnt working as intended. People were not optimizing their behaviour for that. Why not? BECAUSE IT WAS A WASTE OF OUR FUCKING TIME.

Now you make a satire about it being a possible nerf.
Developers in a beta are supposed to test their design and occasionally go back on it. But it would require far deeper unintended consequences of that design, wich is not the case.

There are atleast a dozen things that actually need to be changed with the vendors/economy system, and the payouts of rarity/quantity mods is one of the few things that works right.

I expect them to go back to optimizing the system once more close to the Open Beta, for a fresh start after the wipe with a vendor/trading system that is not an archaic joke of design.

I meant you can't use knockback on enemies right in front of you, they need to be at a distance; so if you don't let them get near it's fine, but once they are at point blank range they won't be affected by the nova so no knockback

@interesting:

What is your post about? No offense but it completely confused me (not in a good way), the post you quoted from Lo4f was obviously a joke...
