[2.4] CI/LL Blade Vortex Pathfinder
" Yea stun immune got me killed in a Ramparts map due to getting cursed with Warlords. Getting that amulet will make me lose a lot of strenght, and might break some gems ( mostly my rallying cry/ maybe my CWDT setup). How should I fix that ? Didnt kill merc lab yet, getting real close, then going to go for the ascendancy point for the removal of bleed, messed that up a bit while leveling and doing normal/cruel lab. I'll try to get a diamond flask, but instead of what? The Granite I guess? And then switch the mana pot later for Rumi's or how should I go about that, without having too much mana issues . I gotta use the mana pot at least once while getting to 20 stacks. Rings are far from good, gotta upgrade those ASAP. Finding a really good dagger might be a bit harder, should I go for a rare dagger or just bite the bullet and spend most of my earnings on a divinarius? Yea in the end I didnt go for the extra points next to Void barrier, but I might have to give up a jewel socket if I wanna go to Druidic Rite, is the investment really worth it while playing Pathfinder? :/ EDIT: Forgot to mention, playing full F2P for a little while more - meaning only 4 stash tabs. Gonna get a currency tab and the stash tab bundle ASAP. Last edited by GamerBeast#2077 on Sep 12, 2016, 12:58:42 PM

" I leave the STR gems at a low level. We wouldn't benefit much from gem levels for most of them anyway. My Warlord's Mark is 9, Decoy Totem 13, Immortal Call 6, CwDT 4 and Inc Duration doesn't need that much strength. We only need 111 strength. Get a Magnate belt that has a good Phys and Str roll. They aren't that expensive and give us nearly everything we need. " I guess you need the mana pot right now, but if you can get to atleast 15 stacks you're good to drop it imho. 15 stacks is enough to go into a fight and you have Warlord's Mark to leech mana so you can get 20 stacks once you're dealing damage. I'd go with following flask setup for the start: Diamond, Atziri, Basalt, Granite/Rumi, Quicksilver Switch out Basalt once you get Vinktars, switch out Atziri once you get Taste of Hate. Once you get some attackspeed on your dagger (that's really expensive, don't go for it until you have your basic gear. Which is expensive enough) I'd recommend switching out your Quicksilver for a Silver to get some Move/Attack/Castspeed, that really makes the build smoother. You only need 2 normal flasks to remove shock and freeze. You could even drop the freeze removal once you get Taste of Hate, but I really dislike getting frozen and 30% avoidance isn't enough. " Divinarius is extremely overrated for what it does. Sure it has spelldmg, crit and the radius is nice, but you can get a 60spelldmg/140spellcrit dagger for like 10c or less while Divinarius costs 1ex+ Just get a rare one. I'd recommend crafting one as well. Get a ilvl84+ Platinum Kris and throw some Woe/Misery/Zeal/Spellcrit essences at it. (Forgot the name of the spellcrit essence) Woe's are expensive, it's unlikely to hit spelldmg+spellcrit if you use Misery or Zeal but it's cheaper and maybe you're lucky. I'd recommend using Spellcrit, hoping for 50+ spelldmg and open suffixes. " Uhm. You've invested 7 points into getting Void Barrier. Getting Druidic Rite costs 5 and and getting from ranger start into shadow by directly speccing into Coordination 2, so it's the same investment and you don't have to drop anything else. Or did I get something wrong? Stashtabs are great. I'd recommend getting atleast 10-14. Currencytab is optional. You don't really need more and it quadruples your income lol Last edited by Purexec#0078 on Sep 12, 2016, 2:33:02 PM

currently running bogok's version of life based MoM blade vortex and got this
through chancing and got me thinking about switching to CI... |
Just wanted to chime to thank OP for the write up and share my experience with another CI BV character!
I regretted starting the league witha BV trickster instead of pathfinder, but at least I got quite good ES stuff (including a 6L vaal regalia waiting a deafening woe =) ) since I played 2 CI tricksters and now thinking of rolling a CI BV pathfinder. To other SC players - flasks and vaal pact leech can carry you SO far. With my trickster I switched to CI in act 2 merciless with 1800 ES and still kept on going. It increased really fast though. Also I can suggest people to slam woes on good crit dagger bases as well. I feel like daggers roll spell crit pretty easy and guaranteeing that spell damage roll helps a lot. I got a 60 spell damage + 90 spell crit platinum kris that way. What do you think I should craft on it? I was thinking crit multi. Hopefully with pathfinder I will be able to farm atziri and uber lab to be able to afford that Vinktar and ToH - together they are 10 ex+... Another question: I your damage setup BV has quality + Inc AoE but pcoc setup doesn't, do you lose out on CoH/PCoC due to it being smaller? I have tested it a little bit and seems like all blades are using the same area to hit thouh they are from different casts but want to make sure. i don't think the radius will be a big issue as i usually whirl into a group
" Well 20% Quality on BV gives you 10% AoE, it might not seem a lot, but it helps. |
" What I meant was, if your damage setup hits/kills stuff before the pcoc one has a chance to generate charges or curse? This can lead to not leeching etc which might end up in a dangerous situation. I also just whirl through packs so for early mapping it was not an issue but it would be good to know if all blades on you use the same area and watch out for those rare but dangerous occasions where it might come in handy. Also I am just cheap and don't want to invest in another 20% BV =) |
" Glad it helps and congrats on the 6L Vaal Regalia :) Sad to hear that you didn't like Trickster BV, what was the issue? Not enough DPS? Yeah I was pretty lucky with crafting daggers as well. Just used a Shrieking Spellcrit on a ilvl84 Platinum Kris and got a total of 185% spellcrit, 63% spelldmg and 17% critmulti. I love attackspeed as it increases clearspeed through Whirling Blades, but multi is probably a better choice especially since I'm using a Silver Flask and Vaal Haste atm so I don't lose a lot. When it comes to crafting I'd recommend using Shrieking over Defeaning. Def is just too expensive. Woe's are generally to expensive, so I'd suggest crafting daggers with spellcrit essences. Rolling spelldmg+mana is pretty common and the 40% spelldmg enchant is good enough to make the dagger more than useable, if it has an open prefix of course. It was just a coincidence that I had quality on my dps-BV setup. I have almost every gem at 20% now, so yeah. The ranges aren't the same and the setup is far from perfect, but I don't really see a alternative. Try to get close to enemies and it should be fine. If you get a Vinktars you don't really need the leech from Warlord's Mark anyway except for bosses, so it's just about the powercharges. -- I bought a Shavs and am currently trying to convert into LL. Shavs already ate 300 fuse without even 5 linking. Let's see how it goes Last edited by Purexec#0078 on Sep 13, 2016, 7:21:45 AM

" I really don't know. We don't really need Enlighten, Rallying Cry is kind of a waste and we can't get Decoy Totem high enough to actually tank. Are you sure that there are no more upgrades, though? I mean, do you have a 500 ES shield, a 800ES chest and what not? And then you could also go Lowlife with a Shavs.. and then Skyforth. I mean, there's always room to improve.
