These changes seem on the whole a step in the right direction how-ever I would have liked to see some mechanics buffs to some of the melee skill like not having to have namelocking on the single target skills for melee which makes them very unpleasant to use.

Also that +5% less attack speed buff to lacarate lol was hoping for a lot more as its now the only real stress free choice what with reave getting the AOE reduction treatment.

Some of these posts are surely just jokes or the people that make them are.

You seriously can't see the difference between nerfing an item/skill to balance it and completely destroying said item/skill to the point where months of time investment are flushed away?

It took me almost 3 years to figure out my own build capable of doing end game contest. I just today tried with it gold T15 core map. NO DEATH!!!! This is first time I was able to do end game map with no death. After 3 years of trying my own build. In two day this build will be death. I's not about do full respec. and go on.... I put lot of effort to make the build be strong in defense and offense. Lot of tweaking. I enjoy it. Now when I suppose to take advantage of my build and FINALLY do end game bosses, my build is death.

Sorry to hear your builds got nerfed. I know. It sucks. But from a positive perspective it gives you the opportunity to try something new and interesting :)

To answer your question, it's actually pretty simple and I don't think it's GGG intention to nerf certain builds to the point where they unplayable. You must understand that Bino's and Mjolner were added to the game quite some time ago. As they introduce new and extensive amounts of content it becomes impossible from a man power perspective for GGG to test every build combination with all the OP items in the game. That's why they rely on the player base (especially streamers who are really good at the game and make the most OP builds *cough* Mathil *cough) to balance the game accordingly as new content is added.

This is the greatest patch I've ever seen... but only in term of skill balance(talking about COC nerf). Ascendancy still isn't balanced and no new skill for new League? Really?

Or perhaps enjoy playing leagues which is where the actual game is at, and don't care for the crying of standard kids who can just easily go respec.

I'm curious, you stated that on CoC it cannot trigger a spell effect you state that it has a 500ms CD, but it can also only trigger one skill per frame. Any way to clarify that a bit? only way that would make sense is if you had an unplayable low FPS, otherwise 500ms (even at 30 fps) is 15 frames, which doesn't make sense if it also can only trigger once a frame. (Of course, I could just be misunderstanding the entire text.)

That's simply not true. Plenty of builds not nerfed by PoE streamers and YouTube uploaders. Just one example: dual flame totem was never nerfed. A solid build that works from newbie to end-game, but not OP enough to be nerfed. There are plenty more builds that are popular and never nerfed to the extent of breaking the build.

Now I agree that CoC was way OP, and glad they nerfed it. Everyone I knew in Prophecy, except for one or two people, were running CoC builds. We all knew it was OP.

It's not like mjolner wasn't strong as well... For one it was a skill-spamming item, which GGG said was causng trouble for other players while also causing trouble on their servers because of the insane proc rates. So if they want to handle these traffic issues, along with making these builds somewhat more bearable for party-play, they needed to cut the procs. I mean, that's something that does make a lot of sense from a mechanical point of view.

While that is quite a nerf to an item, chances are they'll add some bonus to mjolner procs in the future, if it is entirely underwhelming. All in all I'd rather just wait and see for myself though.
