Race Event Season One announced!

So this is a separate league, will I be able to transfer the rewards from that league to the league my characters are?

it usually is a hardcore race
surviving chars are transfered to hardcore league, race stashtabs are converted to "remove only" tabs in hardcorestash
dead chars are transfered to default league

you can transfer harcore items to default any time by dying with a char

If the prizes were high, it became mandatory to participate in races to keep up with the inflation the orbs caused.

Races became even less appealing now!
Many players don't care about Visual effects.

The only thing that will happen is, that most racers will just take the level 100 Coral ring.

Even you don't like currencies why not reward with (rolled) maps?
The drop rates on merciless non map areas are horrible.

Or you create a season with extremly good uniques and everybody will aim for an unique with an extremly low drop chance.

Suggestion:
Maps: Starting at level 66 with 3 times the RP for a next level map, which is a vendor receipe and 2 times on higher level maps.
This would also give players who don't play much to use a high level map once.

Currency:The scaling would be the same as vendors use.
So 2 Alt = 1 Juweler 4 Juweler = 1 Fusing

And higher rewarded prices would be a stack of alchemy orbs, chaos, scourings+chances usually currency that gets burned really fast

Normal difficulty Hillock (Twilight Strand): 2 Reward Points

Why is this? Still existing? It was a concern for July 2011.

Do I have to write a clientless bot that creates a shadow named HillockBot"randomletters" runs and kills Hillock to get this reward changed/removed? Because it will always go to a bot?
Sure it will take some weeks to reverse PoE to handle packets and get me banned after release, but it seems to be the only option to make you realize that this reward is just unfair.

The only chance that a different class than shadow wins this reward would be a ranger/mara that only crits Hillock.

woah everything is set up nicely
good job
i'm excited!
And the league is only open for play during race hours?

During the Closed Beta, we gave out Demigod’s Presence unique amulets to the top players of each character class in an event. In the Open Beta, we’re keeping this concept, but with a new item. For most short races, the top player of each class will receive a Demigod’s Triumph unique wreath. Like all other race reward items, this helmet can be traded with other players.

We will also be adding a ladder of reward points for the current season. This ladder will show which accounts have the most points so far and will help us track who is due to win the overall season prizes. At this stage we’re expecting to give alternate art Demigod’s Triumphs to the top 20 people in the overall ladder of reward points for this season. Details of this will be announced when we have the ladder of reward points implemented soon.

Did you guys complaining about the rewards even read that part? Pretty damn good rewards imo.
If the orb rewards continued with the amount of players in open beta the economy would get completely wrecked.

The economy in permanent leagues gets wrecked anyway, so your point is invalid.

What needs to happen is very simple. They need to keep this system, and add the old system back in on top of it. The current rewards just aren't good enough to be considered a main prize, and aren't a good incentive even for the people who will play a lot, like me. But the currencies was a good incentive and will reward the casuals at the same time.

This is a worse decision than making item effects 1 time use tbh.

Not sure how well your incentive system is going to work...

At first glance it seems entirely not worth the effort for those prizes. Thats just me though, I'll be watching.

Good luck.

+1, liked random orbs as reward (even if you nerfed it as hell).

I have no use of Redbeak @lvl 80+

+1, i dont think i will spend hours of racing for an item that i can find while playing my normal character / trade easily / that i dont even need.

there might be one item in the reward list that i like, but if i already have to spend couple of races on getting the first one.. well then.. nope, thanx.

shame it is like that, i was looking forward to races alot. but now.. not anymore.

Are you morons aware that without item sinks in default league, the economy will get "completely wrecked" anyway? And that not having orb prizes on ladder will do absolutely jack and shit to make a difference? Other than having less people care about races, ofc.

I agree that the Hillock reward has to be removed, it really should not be in races.

I also disagree strongly with the removal of currency rewards, I don't mind if they tone it down alot but removing them completely is harsh for many casual players and those lesser skilled racers who enjoy the races and also enjoy getting something worthwhile for participating. You will still have many people doing races but with now less incentive's the numbers will be far less than what they could be if you still had some sort of currency reward.

In all fairness GGG, the economy is already destroyed right now, because partying was/is the single reason for this destruction, it is already done, only way to fix this is making long events which give a fresh economy. I already mentioned how partying was a big issue for the economy many other related problems too, long before OB.

Overall It is definitely the right direction but still things need to be tweaked.

Also, there should be a separation of season ladders for solo and party, some people never play party, some people dislike party, and many people believe partying is far easier than solo so really these two should not coincide, they should be separated and have no bearing on each other when it comes to the seasonal ladders.
Great

But i think this season i wont go far, i write my exams :(

I would like to know if you still plan on a system that alows players to make their own ladders.
I heard of it a long time ago.
