Introducing New Base Items

Don't fear the power creep. GGG are most likely aware of it and at some point there will be a big ballancing pass again as there was before at least two times already.

I assume ballancing of a complex game like PoE is nothing that can be done casually side by side of an extension. Don't forget that a lot of resources are dedicated to a whole new Act being released early 2017.

And the outcry might be big soon when the changes with regards to CoC are being released. Which is a big risk since many players rely on CoC to faceroll the game. Its always a risk to take away power from players I assume but GGG will do so as needed.

I think most players complaining about powercreep and the game being too easy forget that the game becomes easier - for them - because they played it for years. After all the game seems to be quiet rippy to me still. Just too few players actually play the hardest content in game ( potentially because it is not accessible enough or there arent enough incentives to do so ). ( E.g. just imagine how many players will actually reach and play the center of the Atlas - I assume its going to be less than 2% ... )

If you ignore 3 years of evidence sure. I just recorded boat from my blind noob run clearing some end game maps and nothing touched him. So clearly it was his improvement of skill that carried him. Stop whiteknighting bullshit
Very powerfull, i love it, however, i am left wondering whether enchants will replace implicit property or not
v nice

Nobody ever considered that the new items types are an indicator that there will be a ramping-up of the difficulty, plus an overhaul of the passive tree in the expansion?

Why does everyone judge the items based on 2.3? Are you all new to how GGG runs things?

Ahm.. what? Are you new around here?? When has GGG ever made content realistically harder to match the power creep they grant? xD
Also, Chris showed the passive tree on alot of the interviews and it was literally untouched.

Nothing will be changing significantly in terms of difficulty this expansion. This is simply them giving you more tools.

That GGG has never significantly spiked up the difficulty is likely because PoE being too easy has never before been a thing. Now it is.

I haven't seen the videos with the passive tree, but an overhaul might include small things like reduced values on resistance or ES nodes. The thing is, nobody knows.

Speaking of which, these more tools aren't better tools. None of these 5 items other than the belt and, in super nieche builds, the amulet, are worth a damn thing, so these won't even make your build stronger. So, making the content harder without giving you better tools would just be a punch in the face for casual players, which is not something GGG wants.

Seriously? You realize the mods on the boots and the gloves are implicit? How can you say they aren't worth anything when they have the potential to become the new best rares, especially when combined with essences?
I heard Chris loves Life Regneration.

Where do you need the boots you can cap your ressis really easy as it is. But using them you would loose a Enchant or vaal on your boots.

The gloves are nice but here you also loose a enchant or a vaal, are the 15% dmg worth it? I don't think so!

Stop spreading false information. The last big ballancing update was just over 1 year ago.

Version 2.0.0
10 July 2015

Projectile skills no longer "shotgun".
- huge nerf for a lot of skills

Eldritch Battery now causes Energy Shield to protect Mana instead of Life.
- a huge nerf to caster defenses together with the changes to Arctic Armour

As far as I remember this also was the patch that introduced the leech changes which nerfed a lot of face tank builds.

3 years of evidence for GGG reballancing the game despite the negative feedback they might get. Some people are just blinded by the popular Powercreep term because its always easy to blame a company for it because a company has to introduce powerful things to keep players entertained. Which is fine as long as it it reballanced as needed which it is. Sure grinding maps casually might be easy - which is what players want - we dont want a challenge at every second in game, sometimes we just want to brain afk kill mobs. If we want a challenge we go do bosses. Remember how your Core run went - didnt seem so easy to me.

If you want everything in game to be hard then thats got nothing to do with powercreep - then you just want a different game. This has never been the case in PoE - mob killing and map grinding has always been easy. And send your noob runner to a Atziri / Core / you name it map with your best character and watch him die.

Edit : Actually, send your noob runner into uber lab with your best lvl 90+ character, lets see how far he gets. Dont forget to explain to him to swap Vaal Disciplines in the boss fights, swap flasks as needed and please do it in the video telling your viewers how easy the game is right after that. We gain more power to do harder content.

Edit2 : How many deaths does your noob runner have right now - 30+ ? Easy game ...
