ENOUGH with the Lab posts.

My understanding is that Chris Wilson's statistics say "most people still run lab a lot after ascendancy".

Which is a stupid point because there are other things in lab besides ascendancy points that gate character progression, like enchantments that take an eternity to roll properly for non-meta builds that aren't for sale on poe.trade.

The bottom line is that there are too many people that hate lab and it's hurting the game. Chris is going to have to come to terms with that fact eventually, but by the time he does the damage will already be done. Although in truth, plenty of damage is done to this game in other ways and he hasn't shown any indication of giving a shit, so there's that.

I don't have time to read another lab hate thread, I'm sure there are dozens of really good points too.

Just wanted to come say how I still hate it, you know us vocal minority gotta complain.

Unfortunately, Chris's usage numbers can't tell him how many people who just "deal with the lab" hate it. That's the thing with bribing people to eat okra, you don't know how many of them actually like okra; and Chris seems unwilling to discuss it.

Just my opinion, but I think GGG have taken a disastrously wrong turn with putting ascendancy points behind the lab (and FWIW I have a PoE account going back to 2011 and an AB account going back to 2001).

Why do you care if some feedback is badly cobbled together? Not everyone is an english speaker, nor is constantly browsing the forums and has a coherent opinion.

Dont know about other threads, but you come off as a really insensitive person that justifies his brashness by saying "thats the way i am" like it justifies any sort of behavior or comments.

Common sense is - we do not need 200 threads about Lab. No, really. We don't. If you think otherwise, I have nothing else to say. I don't care how well feedback is cobbled. I just don't think that we need to beat that same thing, over and over again, while it dead for very long now. If you REALLY insist on doing it, anyways - go for it. Can't stop, nor will I try.

Do you think that anyone posting here against the Lab is wasting their time railing against a game they don't care about? They like the game, and probably like it a lot, and they don't want it spoiled (for them) to the point that they no longer want to play it. That's the problem with the Lab.

I'm fully aware of that. I wouldn't go as far as saying that ALL of these people care about the game as much, but most of them surly do. Siochan obviously doesn't, so that is at least one person.

If anything, the massive amount of Lab hate is an equally massive compliment to GGG. Given how deeply the hatred runs, the only reason GGG hasn't bled out is that its team created a game good enough that other games can't compete with it.

People aren't walking away from this game because they love it, even with a wart as large and obnoxious as the Labyrinth. That's something, right there.

Sorry, but that's nonsense, at least partly. You may interpret these massive amounts of threads as a compliment, because it shows how many people care about the game that GGG has created, but it's certainly not a compliment about the lab content that was also created by GGG. It just shows that dozens of people think that the game goes a wrong direction and they fear that GGG will go further ahead that road and keep implementing stuff that is forced upon the player because they gate character progression behind that content. And the argument, that this game may suffer a playerbase drop is quite realistic, because right now, you at least only have to do the lab 4 times per character. When they add another thing like the lab with character progression content, you will have to do that too and then they add another update with completely new gameplay and so on and on... At some point, you are forced to do alot of things to progress with your character which is not in line with the classic poe gameplay (gameplay before ascendency) and I really dont want to spent 50% of my time doing things like the lab. THis is not the case now, but it can be in the future, if (like I said) GGG keeps going down that road.

And that's why people are so concerned about this. Just imagine GGG would announce pre-leveled lvl 60 characters for real money. How many threads do you think would pop up? How much hate? People would fear that this game becomes pay2win even more in the future. When players are concerned about how a game develops over the time, they tend to open many threads and that's what happens with the lab content right now. Gating character progression is just not a good idea to force players to do certain content, just because GGG is so proud of their new child (labyrinth)...

My answer is NO. We will not stop complaining about the lab until its completely revorked or removed from the game
