Returning player here. Last time I played was Malachai expansion.

Really like everything added to game since, EXCEPT Lab. Can't stand it! The traps are ridiculous, dont know if its my screen or not, but most the time I can't see whats going on with the traps near the edges of the screen so can't work out the 'trick' to getting past them. I assume evasion stat counts for nothing here bc my Lvl 95 ranger died in normal difficulty lab (embarrased) to those piercing spikes after i tried to blink arrow but landed on one just as it triggerred.

Buy a new monitor and just dont step on the traps.

Seriously, it's as easy as that. And yes, evasion and armour are ignored by traps.
The Lord's Labyrinth awaits you.
Choose wisely, strike quickly.
Thrust completely.
And may you find the ending that you deserve.

It has nothing to do with your monitor, visibility in the trap gauntlet content is a common complaint. "Traps are ridiculous", in part, because in an arpg, it is ridiculous that a level 95 character would die so easily in such a low level area. This is also a common complaint.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
I've not been playing PoE for years, but I honestly think the lab is great. I died many times in it, and the first times I thought "WTF?".
But with some stepback, I think it's very challenging, and it gives very nice rewards. So, to me, that's very good. It would be a shame to have such good rewards without some dangers and challenges; otherwise, PoE would be like D3, lots of player who don't even know how to play the game, they just get powerleveled by their mates and then every one is wearing the same uniques, playing the same way.
I mean, I don't want to directly compare the 2, I've been spending hundreds of hours on both (more on D3...and many more on D2) but I really think PoE is well balanced with a lot of interesting challenges. I'd keep it this way.

And I think it's great traps remove a % of life and not a fixed amount, so overleveled players cannot win it so easily. At least, it's still a challenge.

It is not too late! We can turn back the pendulum! We can reverse the damage done by Radical Game Design! We can beat the dishonest 1% and out-of-touch establishment at GGG! Rework Lab and Make POE Great Again!
Oh you are alive dude.
Let's dispel once and for all with this fiction that Chris Wilson doesn't know what he's doing. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing. Chris Wilson is undertaking a systematic effort to change POE, to make POE more like the torture platformers.
That's why he fills entire screens and beyond with traps and why you get punished so hard to the point of despair. It is a systematic effort to change POE. When I'm the majority shareholder of GGG, we are going to re-embrace all the things that made POE the greatest ARPG in the world and we are going to leave our children with what they deserve: the single greatest ARPG in the history of the world.
We need leadership that will respect the views of all exiles! We do not need, or want, leadership that writes off a huge chunk of the playerbase as a minority, or a basket of deplorables!

Rework Lab and make POE great for all exiles again!

Radical Game Design has infiltrated POE to depths never before seen! And the grand godfather of this conspiracy is none other than New Zealand Entrepreneur Chris Wilson! We must unite and sway our overlord and master before we lose the identity of POE! Soon we won't have an ARPG anymore! We must rework Lab and Make POE Great Again!

Dude, stop trying. Seriously.

You resemble Trump with that attitude.

"Lose of identity" lol.

Well I guess that is the point. So not sure what he wants to do, but there are actually experts who consider a Trump presidency to be a greater threat than terrorism... which might sound odd but if time travels arrive on election day to warn us of the future they might be proven right :P
