Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support DONE!!!!!
As Regulator likes to point out, GGG used to routinely provide this kind of population information and even did once or twice after the Labyrinth was first released. The numbers didn't seem very good and then coincidently(?) GGG ceased providing them.

" The only population information that actually supply is % players in each league every once and a while, which doesn't give you an overall sense of scale, and basically at the start of the league they say "highest concurrent ever" every league, which i don't remember seeing for legacy, but they did for breach. Either way they never routinely provided population information that could look like much of anything. I could probably be more precise, but let's be honest here this forum's search functionality really sucks. Last edited by j33bus#3399 on May 20, 2017, 2:13:58 PM

For more reactions to the Development Manifesto on the Labyrinth, it's fun to read over the responses at reddit. Here's one I like
Spoiler
superaltaccount ...I don't know why I even bother. Like seriously. What am I even meant to say here that I haven't said before. What can you even say to change the mind of people so stone-walled in their ideals that they basically resort to a long-winded Blizzard style "you think you do but you don't." Like... I'm legit flabbergasted. I hate every new league because it means lab. AGAIN. I don't want to play 3.0 because it means LAB. AGAIN. It just isn't fun to me anymore. I've donated like fuckin' $800 to a game I can't even get excited about a new league/expansion anymore because of this fucking shit dungeoneering knockoff they decided to hammer into the game, and force down our throats 'cause they spent assets and dev time on it so IT MUST BE GOOD DAMNIT. See how that attitude goes for you. Look to your left at the burning wreckage of Diablo 3 and tell me you want to tell your fuckin' consumers what they want. Because when I started playing this game years ago, I don't recall being all like "damn dude I wish this had some shitty legend of zelda knockoff dungeon with traps that can kill you in 400ms and while we're at it can we have a list of chores each league we have to do before we get to start having fun ok ty" But okay, tell us that it's because we can't take the challenge, when the bit the carries are sold for, Izaro, is fucking no problem - it's the dumb leadup. The trials, the mazes, the traps, the fucking doors and bullshit. Fuck labyrinth, it ruined PoE for me. You kill fun side-content like races, or neglect it to the point it might as well be dead like PvP, you add dumb master leveling built around rotations, you add layer upon layer of chore like bullshit to do each patch... I'm slowly starting to very reluctantly accept the fact that I don't want to play this game anymore. The fact that i'm seeing what nobody here wants to... That GGG is going from that cool indie dev, breaking out of their cocoon, spreading their wings, and flying into big boy Blizzard territory where you don't make decisions based around what makes the game fun anymore... You make decisions based on cold things like metrics - like say, metrics on what gets players grinding longer, or say... Metrics on what gets players "interacting" more so they experience a more "open" and "social" game. That's what this is really about - lab carries are good to them because it makes the game seem more prominently a multiplayer experience... And the people protesting this sort of problem being fixed, the ones that VIOLENTLY shit on people in this subreddit for disliking lab... Are often the ones profiting from this, the ones that either enjoy or put up with this kind of content enough to grind it over and over, and don't want their precious extra chaos orbs taken from them for killing the fucking boss when that part isn't even the fucking problem anyway. I have a hard time believing the GGG I fell in love with, the one that was staunch around making a game that they wanted to make, would be happy with labyrinth in its current form. It takes a stick of kindling to poke holes in the design issues with lab. I've done writeups before what's even the fuckin' point of repeating myself - half the time you get shit on, and the other half GGG aren't listening anyway so not like it gets a lot done. I'm not even that distraught because I think honestly it's time to move on. It's clear GGG isn't making the kind of game I want to play anymore and that's fine, thankfully it's free to play so I can still duck in occasionally but I think my passion is pretty much dead. I didn't realize until now how many different alt accounts Turtle and The_Reporter have on reddit. ;) Proud member of the Vocal Minority

For SSF some "lab popularity" can probably be extracted from the ladders and the labyrinth ladders.
SSF HC Legacy uber lab does not enjoy much popularity. There are 3 entries today so far... No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

I think im on this so-called supporter list. But people change over time so the numbers can be misleading already. Like i did, others may have grown out of frustration with experience. I don't know what people get from wallowing on lab hate for so long. It must be a tiresome exercise to exhaust your energy day in and day out especially on a game meant to entertain you. GGG has spoken, most likely from a solid data privy to them, and tailored off some lab content accordingly. The verdict of it as a permanent fixture on the game is final. I used to call it boring, too dark, unnecessary HC content forced on players, etc. But first try learning how to deal with it and realize that ascendancy points cant better be gained than going thorugh the trials. Its a heart pounding hand trembling worthy experience to go through the first time, and should be an easy run the next time if you dont like it much.
The one true problem lab has is the disconnections. To which i can confidently circumvent by simply restarting PoE before I make an attempt with my potato pc. |

" It really can't though, you don't know 3 of how many people, how many people who have an offering, and are of a level to play the lab are still playing two and a half months later? What's the average amount of people playing each lab per day compared to the usual attrition that happens every league? Is today just a shitty lab to run for the ladder and/or loot? |

" You can see (if you make a tool to derive such statistics) which players/characters on the ladder are active. And you can run this tool 24/7. That way you can get meaningful statistics out of the ladders. If you put in the necessary effort. Obviously you cannot get all information which GGG has access to. But it would be a lot better than random arbitrary biased guesses. Edit: typo No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle! Last edited by Zrevnur#2026 on May 20, 2017, 3:37:40 PM

" The above post was made here. I'm responding in this thread because Ellerean's interesting proposal should be discussed there rather than the account name list. He's just a person that knows Labyrinth game play well and knows that while it is a rewarding area to run through, it is not a fun area to run through. For a game that should be fun to play that means that something should be fixed to make the content more fun or less boring or optional. " Just for science: the better pool is the playerbase that *entered* the lab. Choosing the people which *completed the lab*, will result in a (larger) bias toward the "lab lovers". Because players, which entered the lab, but not finished it, should belong in the majority to the "lab haters". Cutting them of the pool, would give the "lab lovers" a methodical unjustified advantage. " Yeah, that sums it up quite well.
