yeah i think chieftain will be our way to go now. or they rework this again. even if you go with a attack build you have no chance to sustain such a degen. keep in mind u need 25sec to loose all 50 stacks, so if you are mapping or fight against a boss with phases like chimera: he ports away, you have no creep to leech and loose 20% life per sec: 100% death... gg GGG

I'm sure you will do some good planning and will manage to keep the build strong in the new league. Damn, I wanted to use it as a starter and i certainly still do! And I have never played Chieftain before so it will be fun.
Btw it may look frustrating but i don't think GGG will let something that stupid happen. I'm sure there will be some ways to counter this life degen because dying in 5 secs from things that are supposed to buff you when you can tank Shaper's beam even longer if tanky enough is ridiculously dumb. I refuse to believe they will simply let this happen.

Offensive Benefits from OLD Zerker:
48% increased physical damage
12% increased attack speed (37% if you haven't killed recently, and 52% if you've been hit recently.)
40% MORE damage.

Defensive Benefits from OLD Zerker:
120% increased Warcry Duration
25% of life and mana on Warcry
14% increased Armour
6% reduced damage taken if killed recently.

Offensive Benefits from NEW Chieftain (Ramako, Hinekora, Ngamahu, Arohongui):
40% increased fire damage
10% increased strength
10% chance to cover enemies in ash when you or your totems hit them (equivalent to 20% more damage)
50% of physical damage converted to fire damage
Damage penetrates 10% fire resistance (equivalent to 10% more damage)
Every 10 seconds, gain 100% of physical damage as extra extra fire damage for 3 seconds. (Equivalent to 30% more damage)
Enemies near your totems take 16% increased physical and fire damage (equivalent to 16% more damage)
10% increased totem placement speed


Defensive benefits from NEW Chieftain:
+100% to fire resistances (holy poggers)
1% of life regenerated per second (3% if you've taken fire damage from a hit recently)
10% of physical damage taken as fire damage (which means that the previous line procs on all physical damage too)
Unaffected by ignite
1% of fire damage leeched as life (this doesn't affect us because Ancestral bond)
1% of Totem damage leeched to us as life (this does)
Enemies near your totems deal 8% less damage.




New Chieftain is shaping up to actually be just as much damage if not more than old Zeker, and has WAAAAAY better defenses than Zerker (no 10% increased damage taken, tons of life regen, an ass ton of free resist, phys damage taken as fire, a mini enfeeble aura on totems, immunity to ignite.


With normal health nodes taken and Oak we're looking at 11.2% life regen per second, and 1% leech from our totems.

We still out here boys.

All right but since I'm relatively new to the game what does that mean? Do we follow exactly the same things in this guide (just change ascendancy class) or there will be other major changes as well?

maybe we will change some gems in our 6L, not sure if elemental dmg gem isnt better than full life with the new 50% fire conversion

What is your favorite Warchief Build btw? Facebreaker, Starforge or Frost? ... And which is the strongest? Im kinda torn between Facebreaker (because of 3 totems) and Starforge (because of the nice sword).

Hmm and i wonder what will happen to StarForge now that Berserker will be changed in 3.2

Oh, right, not only did the zerker change kill RF, it also kinda killed totem zerker, because there's no way a totem build can handle this much degen. RIP.

we get a lot more lifereg with chieftain, it will not be the same ofc, maybe a bit harder but i know many players who always played chieftain and never had problem in the lab. so i think we just have to train with the new ascendancy and than it will not be a huge difference
