Mechanical Questions Thread

Hi guys.
There are two simillar mods: cannot be shocked and shock immunity.
So how these mods interact with shocked ground (or any non-hit source of shock)?
Are they just the same and both can be affected by shocked ground?

Any stat saying a debuff "cannot be" inflicted on you only prevents new instances of that debuff. If you already have the debuff on you first, gaining a "cannot be" stat won't remove it.

"Immune" does that as well as removing existing instances of the debuff.

Source.

Whether the Shock is inflicted by a Hit or by something else makes no difference.

Hi to all
i have the following question about raise zombie and bloodlust support gem mechanic.
(i checked all the awnsers to make sure i am not repeating a question).

i recently saw a youtuber who used Raise zombie socketed with Bloodlust gem.
he was also using self cast vulnerability curse and told me that the zombies can apply bleed that way, and benefit from the bloodlust damage boost.

i never though it was possible since in the wiki it says:

"Skill gems linked to Bloodlust will deal more physical damage to bleeding targets, but can't apply the bleed status effect themselves"

he told me that the secret lies in the "themselves" word which means that the vulnerability is causing the bleeding and not the zombies.

So is it correct?

Best Regards!

Very well, can you answer to another question please? In times when Atziri and Shaper had shock immunity, they could be shocked by vaal lightning trap or Vinktar's flask, why?

This is not correct. A hit by a skill supported by Bloodlust can not inflict Bleeding, no matter how the bleeding is caused.

This was my testing setup:

Blasphemy + Vulnerability
Raise Zombie + Brutality
Speaker's Wreath

The helmet ensures that a zombie can not kill anything with Hits, and Brutality makes it so that they can't inflict any ailments other than Bleeding. (This should not be possible anyway, but just in case.) I raised one zombie and let it smash some Act 1 monsters while I stood nearby applying the curse to them.

With the setup as above, the zombie was able to kill monsters with roughly a 20% chance, consistent with the chance to bleed from Vulnerability.

However, after adding Bloodlust to the zombie links, the zombie was not able to kill any monster over a period of several minutes.

I have repeated the same test again using Frenzy to hit monsters myself instead of a minion for completeness, with the same results.

Conclusion: A skill linked with Bloodlust can not inflict Bleeding, even against enemies cursed by Vulnerability.

Of course, the player could have also been attacking the monsters themselves (or with another minion and such), and make them bleed in that way. Then their minions would indeed benefit from the Bloodlust damage bonus.

Sorry, I have no clue about this one. I can't find historical stats of Atziri, and I can't really go back in time to check. It is possible that the modifier on her only gave her immunity to shock from hits; but my suspicion is that she was actually immune and her being shocked in other ways was just a misconception or a graphical glitch.

Thank you "Abdiel_Kavash" that is very detailed and devoted testing.
Something else to think about: is it possible that the zombie doesn`t deal damage with the bleeding, but is applying the "bleeding" status and then gets increased damage from the gem?

tonight i will test it in PVP with the same setup as yours, and ask the other player to see if the status is applied.

A Bleeding (or Poison, Ignite) which would deal zero damage does not get applied at all.
Thank you, Abdiel_Kavash
Hello. Sorry for my English. Mechanics «Vaal wings» (prophecy) + «30 barrel» (sextant). When I destroy barrel on map being under the influence of corrupt when I using mines gem I get normal items, but if I use not mines gem I get corrupter items on barrels. I think this mechanics broken.
Hi all

The node of Trickster, Ghost Dance, says "10% Dodge and Spell Dodge while you have energy shield"
This dodge bonus still work with Eldritch Battery?
