Loading is faster, but in game performance are actualy worse?

Yea personally I cant even play with how bad the lag is I just cant deal with it which is really sad because I was so excited for the prophecy
my problem looks like
when i enter a zone i need to wait like 30 sec to load all of textures (in first few sec all looks grimmy) so i can move, but when im moving i feel very laggy some mobs have invisible models (can see only health bar) or they using invisible spells
for example my mervil fights looks like
entering lair, waiting 10 sec so textures are loaded, coming close to merv than whene she starts her attacks with frost spears i could not see them, same with incestorm thing i was only able to see when it hit on ground not the actual rain
but after i fight with merv to half hp i finaly saw her ice spears when she throw then on me
can i fix it somehow i even reinstalled poe from my steam
win xp user
I got the same problem. Please, GGG, make the preloading optional.
same problem here, pre-patch good fps but now unplayable, it just jumps from 60+ to 6-30 constantly
After how many years these dudes can't launch an update/patch/exp without causing serious problems?
The in-zones lag comes from continuous game loading. They sacrificed game-play just to brag that the game loads faster.
Those with SSD-s might not be bothered by it, but if you are on a mechanical HDD, your screwed, no matter haw fast is your video card, or how much RAM you'll have.
When the mechanical HDD starts to grind and grind, you can get a cup of coffee or black tea, and wait for your HDD to stop "grinding".
And big lols, we talk about a 2009 game, DX10, or something, that bring to it's knees a nice core i5 rig.
Some extra information, the FPS problem happens immediately when the game loads. It applies to the BG stuff at the login screen/character selection screen.

100% game engine issue.

Noting this is the standard poe.exe. I cannot run the Steam one unless I install Steam.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

This is not just an issue for non-SSD users. I have a very fast system (quad core CPU, SSD, 1GB memory, 800 series nvidia card) and I still drop to 5 FPS every time I kill a large pack. Waiting a few minutes at start of zone does not help.

Same problem. Mega stutters when new area is loaded, then most areas clear up after about 5-20 seconds. Piety fight stutters never stopped.

I have Vsync on. Agree with above poster, this is 100% game engine's fault.

Never had this problem before, game is unplayable at the moment.

Same here.

Few months ago I used to play with --nopreload until I fixed that for me and I could run the game like supposed to. And --nopreload back then felt exactly as the game feels now after the performance "improvements".

So, for me it's a step back so far, sadly.
Any update on getting things back to how they were before the patch? I tested this morning and I'm still seeing the same behavior.

Let me know if you need a video or system logs to help troubleshooting.
