" I agree with OP. He needs to have some sense communicated to him. He's out of touch with his game. He's developed "writer's myopia", and can no longer (if he ever could) see the content objectively, at all. It's something that happens to almost all creative people who have long-running projects. For example: Somehow he's missed that people are going to be playing frost bolt/ice nova with coc/ground slam+GMP with trypanon. (or better yet, in sire of shards). How could you not see that coming, and the ensuing shitstorm of hardcore QQ? Easy. Writer's myopia. You could tell that in designing the lab that they were so immersed in what it was, and so familiar with how it started, that all of the things they've scrambled to fix about it would have been obvious (and were obvious if you could go back and check the feedback forum March 3-7). Because they designed it from the start, they never had to deal with dead ends and backtracking. They didn't have to run the trials + labs on 5+ Perandus characters and feel what an absolute drag that is. Because they were testing on temp characters, they didn't feel the shit RNG of 1-in-350 chance of getting what you want. The real player experience is hard to feel out when you design something from square one with whatever character/gear you want. It's hard, if not impossible, to take on content that you're intimately familiar with from a completely fresh perspective - but that's what you allegedly have QA for. They might have been subject to the same blinders, which is what you allegedly have alpha testers for. We've heard numerous reports about how useless the alpha testers were, and how eager they were to keep bugs and powerful things to themselves, so there went our third layer of reasonable testing. Maybe some of them did pass along feedback like this, and the devs ignored it out of arrogance...kind of like what the OP said to begin with. |

Nice post, OP. But well, i think i will write it again: it's content. You shouldn't feel forced to play it at all. I cited before an argument about the bandits quest before, it is optional too.
I don't like the labyrinth because the first impression was terrible(lags and more lags and disconnects). But i accept it, not because it is being thrown at me, but because it well, makes sense? Fight for power? If you want to be more, you have to do more to get it. Noone like everything that receives, but people actually accept it, not because it is good at first glance, but because it is good over the time. I think that with time given for the labyrinth, people will just forget about those frustrating moments that had running it and will do it as a bandit's quest, will pass through, get their points, move on, no big deal. Because it is content. [I mean, i repeated it so many times: IT IS CONTENT. I don't know how people can't understand it, but... the game wasn't developed to make everyone happy, but to keep everyone playing it. Yeah, labyrinth was the part of the game i disliked most, but, you know what? I never played this game so much as i played with the ascendancy, because it gave so much options(thoughs) that i didn't feel so much the drawback to see my planning being realized. I even grinded it like crazy at the beginning of the league, disconnecting as F***, because i wanted to see my ideas coming truth.] Right, the [] part could be accomplished by having another experience or even having those points for free. But as you stated, human nature. We fight to get what we want to have, without fighting, over time, the rewards become senseless. At first glance it may seem to be the best thing to have ascendancy for free, but if you know what i mean, you know that {over time, people will stop playing the game because they have everything they want, without having to put much effort into it}. Doesn't it {} define part of the word boredom? Hate the lab, but want to fight against it to ascend and become god like. That's my opinion. Sometimes...

It's really ridiculous ( and sometimes/somewhat pathetic ) to see most people complaining on the forum think that they are the vast majority of the community, and that everybody else or almost think like they do ...... The "Alpha players keep bug for themselves boouuuhh" part before is just ..... The ad-hominem attacks from some tell a lot too.
