Is your Shadow an actual true melee range character? If it's not, that's moot to this discussion. At that point you're playing a pseudo range character. You and I both know that you most likely can't eat a chain of physical hits, if you do you're dead. If you're layering defenses together (as in using Coil/Taste of Hate/Fortify/Endurance Charges/etc.) then those defensive mechanics are arguably stronger on a melee character in most cases, especially when you can get your life pool far higher on the left side of the tree rather than the right side of the tree.


The only reason why a true melee armor character sorta sucks is that the game is more about avoiding damage taken rather than actually making a build that can take hits. Ultimately the best way to play the game is just to avoid hits rather than coming up with something creative that can actually tank and take hits. Best way to do that is to play range and the PEWPEW glass cannon.


it is a frost blades character but just for the sake of demonstration i swapped FB with wild strike (the worst and the meleeeest melee skill available). this makes the damage way lower than usual (as half of the passives do not apply) but you wanted melee - sorry for me being not perfect with aiming but i havent used this skill for a while

T12 100%+ quadruple damage mods map (uploading now). this build has no leech except for the atxiri's flask that i do not even rely on and it takes something extraordinaire to kill it

it really is up to the player. people knowing what and how to do have no issues, people judgind builds by their dps numbers frequently do have issues. sadly they address the complaints wrongly

Monsters should never do more damage dead than they do alive. Bearers and volatile blood are the same. Really poor design.

Evasion & Dodge works great versus porcupines, at least in my experience?

If evasion char, I get arrow dancing primarily just for these porcupine guys but it helps with reflect as a bow character as well.

I would've been impressed if you had actually linked even a triple dmg mod map and cleared it without dying. Instead you link a single dmg mod 90% (actually 70% since it has 20% quality) map that isn't much different from a white map.

Sigh. Why'd I even expect to see something good.

No need to be mean, its a video game, one in which you have a different opinion.

All the spikes can hit you is what can make them op. One spike doesnt hurt, but when 7 blow up at the same time and your in melee range, you get hit by like 50.

i didnt die. you know that but you had to be that guy. second: it has extra dam, crit and angry boss. Fidelitas hit me for like 5.5k in this video. extra crit alone wrecks US players (no double chec to avoid crits).

i know you are about to move the goalpost once more but be creative because you cannot gimp the build more thanusing Wild Strike. id you want i can run another map - but be so kind and provide it. i have no desire to level this char any more so have little incentive to run red maps for show just for you to say 'mmmmm not like it, add xzy and xxy and zzz to showcase it is viable'.

evasion builds when build properly are 100% endgame viable. ive done my part. if you want to prove me otherwise show me a build, show me a clear and we will find what YOU did wrong if it failed
