Hm. I could see the problem with them while there were fracturing maps (oh, the fun times...), but without fracturing? Even when I don't shatter them, they don't seem to hit very hard. In Orchard, you can completely ignore them. Not sure about higher maps, have not been there in a while cause they don't drop.
