I'm still very curious about the 'controlled destruction' gemming. Could someone give some insight why this gem is better than others, even though it cripples your crit chance (an the build seems to build on crit as well, also for the surgeon benefit).

What am I missing here?

I have a similar question, actually.
Yes, Controlled Destruction doesnt nullify your critical strike chance, but it hurts it severely, and build doesnt seem to have high % increased critical strike chance (just a few crit passives, that's all).
I suppose, crit chance reduction was irrelevant when BV could have 50 stacks (because the number of hits was so high, that even mediocre crit chance did the job. But now, it can only have 20 stacks (2.5 times less), and i think it wont be enough to quickly refill your flasks, if your crit chance sucks.

I was just watching the tutorial video of his, and he actually said something about it (would be nice if he would have written is out as well, as it seems important). :D

Just in short: without the controlled destruction gem he had about 31% crit (without charges it seems). And with it about 26%. So the difference isn't even as big as I thought. Given the amount of hits you're dealing it seems ok I guess.

Why are you using Ecplise?
I got it early this league but i dont see how i can use shield charge or whirling blades with it and is it really better then rare dagger + wb/shieldcharge+ fortify?
Screen DPS for me is exactly the same but i am not sure what is going to be safer, fortify+shieldcharge or the effects of crits.
Would be nice if you could help me out here ;)

every mod on it is great for this build regardless of not using whilring blades / shield charge.
you can choose whichever

I dont understand what regardless means in that context...
Just to understand if i use one (or two??) wands i dont have any movementskill and yet that is better because of the "blind and inc crit" stats on ecplise? Thats what you are saying?
Pretty sure solaris eclipse should only be used as a stepping stone before you can get divinarius or a good rare dagger, simply because fortify is op as well as the ability to move really fast with shield charge/whirling blades so you can ignore movement speed on your gear
BV..is a Spell... Controlled Destruction lowers Crits.. but adds a ton of Spell Damage... that could be why.
Controlled destruction works because it doesn't reduce your crit to 0, it will only reduce it by 4-8% and because you hit very quick your flasks refill very very quickly, you should have 100% uptime on flasks and if you do not then buy the Magnete Studded belt,

Reduce crit chance by 100%, its not sayings you no longer crit trust me you won't notice the difference in crits.
So a few notes bout my day 2 pathfinder:
-just respeced to CI version. 6.8 es for f cheap unoptimized gear is a good number. Running hatred+discipline when solo. CWDT-curse WM works nice for now. In groups have to switch to Blasphemy-WM and turning off discipline. Will be fully optimized with Enlighten wich I dont have now.
-respec was painfull and expensive.
-easily made merc lab in hp version on lvl 70. Flasks and molten shell iare so op. Still have perma flasks on Izaro. Carried a few friends and random guys for currency.
-Main setup BW-Added fire-AOE-Crit chance-Crit damage-Spell echo. Switch to Conc effect for bosses. Maybe gonna use controlled destruction instead Added fire later.
-Using basalt, granite, diamond, quicksilver. Thinking of Lion's Roar as fifth as cheap rumi alternative. Or just silver.
So far runs pretty good, has ton of potential. Would be godlike with vinktar.

Is it viable to skip MoM and the Curse on Hit BV setup? It feels super clunky for me now with just 20 charges and it has shorter range than our normal BV so a lot of stuff dies before getting cursed. Also you would have to use PCoC on your main BV, but that might be worth the quality of life of not having to use the second BV.

Maybe in higher maps you will feel the need for it...

No, not viable at all, specially on harder content, and you'd want to get used to it in easier content...

Pcoc on main setup is a criminal waste of a slot, and you don't need CoH to hit every single mob, just a few in each pack when you whirling to them is a few to keep you up, and it will save your life when facing tougher mobs
