Here's an idea for the new Currency Tabs: Add Perandus Coin to Currency Tabs (25K capacity)

Dude there is no convincing you of anything other then what you've set your mind to. But let me just be clear again, you don't define currency, the loot filter doesn't define currency, the definition of currency in this game is as I listed above.

So, basically, the definition you give is better than the definition the game itself uses?
That's an extremely narcissistic point of view.

Howso? Loot filters don't define currency, the game design as a whole does. It isn't a core feature of the game nor is it likely to be a core feature of the game. OP mentions that he thinks it will be added to the core game therefore it should be added to this tab, but they've had previous league ideas that aren't added to the core gameplay or largely, at all.

Someone I guess added coins to the wiki, which still doesn't define it as an actual currency in the CORE game. Again how can you argue against legacy currency not having a slot, but argue for league specific "currency"

No logic whatsoever

Poe.trade is treating it as currency.

3rd party treating it as currency therefore GGG must treat it as such in every aspect. Lets take a product you can choose to buy or not buy and manipulate it, much like reddit is trying to do because you think you are better and smarter then the devs. You think this league idea should be added to the core of the game. This thread is an absolute fucking joke and I'm done with it. People need to find something better to do then argue about coins being fucking currency in the game when it is a league specific method of encouraging player interaction, its by far the worst economical league and has the largest ability to be the biggest detrimental addition to the core of the game. But its ok as long as you can stack your coins to 25k in a currency tab for a league specific "currency" that will have no purpose or addition to the core game.

ABSOLUTE FUCKING JOKE

Oh, yea, the loot filter API (you know, the one that GGG makes) also treats it as currency.

edit: this is a list of all the classes items fall under in the loot filter. Again, classes determined by GGG, since they made the loot filter API. Guess which one coins fall under? I'll give you a hint, it's not Quest items.

Ok. I'm going to make this as simple as possible:
A Rhoa Feather/Perandus Coin/Eternal Orb is dropped by a monster. The game code then proceeds to check whether the item should appear or not. It follows lines of the filter one by one, then arrives at the one reading Class Currency. It then makes the check:"Does this item belong to the Currency Class? Yes.". The code then lets the item appear, since it indeed IS currency.

Sure, filters and players (you included) don't define what is currency. Game code does. And it does define Perandus Coins, Rhoa Feathers and Eternal Orbs as currency.

Even GGG is basically saying that these items are currency.

Or you know he is referring to it missing the most important currency. Feathers.

Coins aren't currency and will likely be pointless after this league.

I do not think so. Try to see the global design.

Proper Currency in a new league as a test +
First embrional trade system with P-Tabs +
New Orb Tab for massive storage of orbs (this would impact the economy a lot, one of the main reason exalt were valuable is that they had an high value/space ratio, now this is a minor issue).

Then connect the dots.

I think Perandus will be added to the tab when league ends. Or perhaps it wil be introduced a new 'tab' (or something similar) only for coins.

an very interesting aspect.

and they will also sell less stash tabs as currency probably has taken alot of space which just got freed for other stuff.

Coins aren't proper currency system, it actually is improper for PoE, it is the outliner not the baseline. GGG specifically didn't go with a gold based system to start with and while coins don't equal gold their usage is relatively similar. If it is a test, it is an utter failure by GGG's part to think of long term implementations and more importantly its previous design manifesto that specifies why the currency system is designed the way it is.

The premium tabs is to reduce the server load and provide paying customers with some nice QoL features. It helps them and helps you.

Orb tab has basically no impact on the economy, you didn't trade up your chaos because they took up so much space (at least I didn't) it is because the chaos to exalt ratio always rises until a certain point, you were losing money by not trading up. The only real thing here is people might save up for bulk sales more often instead of doing the smaller ones, which is perfectly fine. Anyone that needs fuses typically wants to buy exalts worth and anyone that wants to sell fuses typically wants pure as well.

A new tab for coins only isn't logical when coins aren't logical for the core of the game.

Good question

Yes, they are.

Casually casual.

And the title of that thread is what again:

Information for Updating your Item Filters

The classification just means what it is by default or how it interacts with loot filters, if GGG wants to define it as a currency of the core of the game (which it is not currently given its current state is just a temp league thing) then by all means they could do so and violate the very foundation this game was established by in terms of currency design.

But by all means this circle jerk is quite interesting to watch.
