Well, first of all since you are beginning to poe just recently, know that you will die a lot, fail a lot in many directions. Though the amount of struggle has reduced dramatically since the community has grown and the builds became more and more fail-proof via the help from ascendancies.

This build has some tricks sure, but since I have detailed everything out pretty clearly, I think you won't struggle with it as a beginner.

Only hard part is leveling and transitioning to the build after you kill normal and cruel izaro (by level 65-70).

Since bladefall is not nerfed, you can take my advice (in the first post) and level as a self cast bladefall (conc-echo-controlled) along with a 4-link shockwave totem (fastercast-controlled-conc) to help with tougher packs (on packs use increased aoe instead of conc) and bosses(use conc). That will really be enough to carry you till those 2 labs and level 65+.

I would recommend that you start the build with a quill rain if you can find one for cheap. Then transition into lioneye's glare as soon as you get a 30% projectile speed quiver.

While leveling you will have leveled hatred, bladefall, conc effect, controlled destruction gems already. You need to have a blasphemy leveled up as soon as possible, also a glacial cascade and cast on critical strike. Other gems aren't that important. Level them in offhand slots if you can.

Make sure to get dexterity and strength on gear so that you can level your gems up properly. You might need to get one of the +30 dexterity node on the tree to be able to level your gems at the beginning of the league.

I wish you good luck mate.

Tnx for quick reply. Ill do that.
And i got another totally noob question.

So i like to clear every map in normal difficulty and usually when finishing act 3 im already leavel 39-40. My question is will there be any and if so how big of a disadvantage if i get bladefall and leave 28 gems on level 35 or something like that?

Sorry for noob questions.

Is BR mandatory? Can we use other bow skills to trigger COC?
Ty for this guide!
Hey really awesome Build im always looking for these strong low budget Builds in new leagues.
Really hyped to play it from tomorrow.

I just have a quick question regarding Noxious Strike.
Am I mistaken when i assume that BR is the only source beeing able to inflict bleeding on targets?
Is BR really enough to be able to proc bleeding, poison and maim and be noticeble?
Or am I really missing something here?

thx

Hi. First of all, thanks for the idea and for the guide. I was playing an extremely well performing and powerful blade vortex pathfinder (killed all double bosses except Malahi and brainlessly jumped into all packs in Poorjoy asylum) and it's pretty tempting to reproduce it again, but your guide made me want somewhat different gameplay.

However, I have some questions/concerns. Some of them are already answered in the thread, but I still doubt.

1. Is life leech from curse and flask enough? My pathfinder had same sources of life leech, but it was, you know... Pathfinder. Flasks were always up, even Vinktar, even in long fight against single target. Here it's not obviously the case. So, is life leech enough? If warlord mark is on blasphemy, does the range make the problem? For blade vortex it didn't :), but this build looks like ranged. Won't I have to plug in life leech support and will the build suffer if I have to?

2. Same question again mana sustain. Is it always enough, even against single target? What are the sources?

3. Why the second spell is Glacial cascade? Can it be made better with Ethereal knives, taking into account both a lot of projectile speed you anyway obtain and somewhat need of close range due to warlord's mark blasphemy?

Thanks in advance for the answers.
I played this build and the life leech was just fine. I never had a problem with it. Mana was never a problem and I only had 1 jewel with +1 mana on hit. About Glacial cascade.. I really liked how this skill worked with the build but you can always try something different to see if you like it better. I am going to start the next league with this build because it is strong, cheap (to start) and it was really fun to play. Thanks so much for the build. This was the type of gameplay I always wanted from poe and I found it with this build.
The thread is alive more than ever guys! Ty for the humble and respecful responses.

For some of the questions here:

You can leave the gems you have leveled until 28 and throw them into stash, no worries.
You can level as bladefall.

The vendors sell most of the gems and those gems are level 12 or so by the time you get to level 70. So if you have anything missing, you can buy them there.

Or you can use poe.trade and in the first week of the league all the level 16-17 gems will be only 1 chaos. Don't worry about it!

Blast rain is not mandatory, but if you play with barrage a little bit, you will see how SHIT it is compared to blast rain. Blast Rain, when you overcome the delay problem via projectile speed, becomes a beast. 13 procs per second on multiple targets, 9 procs per second on single targets. What more do you need. Large area, hits many monsters and procs off of ever monster hit.

RainDota
With the amount of targets we hit with blast rain and the amount of times we hit single targets, yes we will be able to proc bleed reliably. Blast rain's projectile explosions overlap on the single target mob always.

When that target is bleeding, your bladefall and glacial cascade will poison, and that will be a considerable damage boost. Wording is stating, poison when hit, not when poison when hit by attacks.

So the poison is not limited to blast rain.

Leech is more than enough, in one of my gorge videos which has extra damage mods I get hit by 5 drop bears and leech to full instantly, you can see it close to the 2nd minute or so I think. Can't remember.

You can plug in life leech support but I never needed it, never. And no the build doesn't suffer a lot since the third spell is Arc and that is more utility than damage.

Mana sustain is just +2 mana gain on hit from 1 jewel. Even 1 was enough, I use +2 because I have level 20 blast rain.

Glacial cascade is 33% physical and 67% cold. And has a lower total damage than EK. But wait:

For example, GC has 12k damage and EK has 17k damage (I have seen these numbers)
1.) GC is an AoE skill so it is supported more strongly by this build.
2.) Bladefall and Glacial Cascade are staged spells, so you cannot one shot yourself to reflect, you always leech with the stages.
3.) Glacial cascade hits the same target at least 2 times unless its not on the ending tip of the cascade.

What (3) means is:

12k Glacial cascade when supported by conc effect already becomes 19k damage (33% physical, 67% cold).

Lets ignore the cold part. If you hit a boss with conc effect glacial cascade, it hits the boss 3 times. That makes 19k pure physical damage from glacial cascade.

I assumed the boss has 100% cold resistance here. And still glacial cascade is better than EK. Yes the tooltip of EK shows 17k but it doesn't begin to match glacial cascade's power on single targets.

For multiple targets, glacial cascade is a good source of freeze and chill, so yeah, we have a winner here I think :)

Edit for donalgraeme: The Leech video is the one with classical music at Exar__Kun PoE Youtube Channel 2:04 is the time when the drop bear + leech happens.

Tnx again for help. Just asked because i will get bladefall on level around 35 and not 28. Was afraid i would be behind.

Can't wait for Prophecy so i start playing this build.

Overread that little detail.
Wow this build makes perfect use of all the ascendancy notes. Sounds broken though :D
Thanks for being so responsive.

Thank you very much for the answers, you almost got me.

I only have last concern now: how do you reach crit cap? Where my math is wrong?

I mean you have 330 crit chance from tree and 350 from full charges (before the right corruption). This gives crit chance around 67% which is obviously insufficient.

To reach crit cap from 8.5 base you would need 1017% increased crit chance, so 337% increased crit chance from gear and jewels which looks pretty unreachable for me.

Having the right corruption on the bow drops the required additional crit from gear to 225% which is still a lot for me by the way.

Anyway, you have around 140% crit from gear which is huge but doesn't seem to be enough but obviously works for you. And you even use controlled destruction!

This means something is wrong with my calculations. I'm just trying to figure out, how hard is to gear up for this. I need to get life and resists and still crit chance and with any luck crit multi, so I tried to calculate how much crit chance is needed and got this surprise.

Thanks again!
