SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]
You're right, ScrotieMcB. GGG should probably add a platform jumping puzzle on the way to the Dweller. A boiling pit of lava with moving small platforms. Or perhaps crocodiles like in Pitfall!
It would fit the new theme of the game much better :) |

" Why exactly does this matter? Of course there are going to be more map runs than laby runs. You map to gain levels which isn't very optional if you're trying to level past 80 or so, laby is completely optional aside from running it for the ascendancy points. Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

@Casual: so what's your problem, then: the immortality of the enemies known as traps, or the way they deal damage?
Small numbers of immortal, predictable enemies is fine. It's not the largest design space in the world, but it is NOT genre-changing. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. " Mostly in the area itself. Not fond of the labyrinth/gold doors/backtracking and all of that. The traps themselves aren't a huge issue for me personally although the frogger-like gameplay of those spots seems off with the bad hitboxes and sloppy mouse-click and ragged movement. It's more suited to a gamepad or joystick and seems shoehorned in. |

Although I think Lab is interesting content, I got no problem to remove asc pts from lab.
I would give it for killing malachai. |

"It says a lot about the leech-tank mindset that someone could say the controls of the game are horrible, and that this doesn't matter until you run across enemies you can't damage. Really, something like that should be a much higher-level concern, far above lab. I don't think the controls are that bad, though, if you have a decent rig. One of the major issues is you can't play PoE on a toaster anymore, and GGG needs to update system requirements and/or improve performance. Unfortunately, GGG's poorly updated system specs are tantamount to lying - they're saying you *can* play it in a toaster. @ Scrotie - To further expand, I LOVED a lot of those run, jump, puzzle platform games. Frogger, Pitfall, Mario etc... But I can't imagine enjoying them with a mouse + keyboard setup. If you get my meaning.
edit to respond to your next post: I'm not experiencing performance issues with my PC. It's fine. I was meaning you can sometimes be damaged by some of those things when it appears visually that you're clear of them. And the animations of the character doesn't stop. They seem to need to finish a sequence which can cause a loss of pinpoint placement. (1st on page 100!) |

I really appreciate your effort Scrotie but you see, everything you just said is purely opinion based meaning we already have a problem before you even suggest/question anything. Your question while might sound reasonable to you, its only because your mind chose them to be. Besides the first asterisk (*) (its indeed in the game and a very similar while totally different case in the same time) everything else you mentioned is just how you see the game, not how the game really is. Now go and check the OP, and tell me if any of the points made there have even the slightest pinch of bias.
Ofcourse the suggestion in the OP is a result of the facts presented there to support it plus my personal despise towards the labyrinth playstyle, and thats the only prejudiced part you can find there. Lets analyze even further : "Says who? Based on what? Clearly your opinion (many people might share it dont get me wrong, even the majority) but do you have anything to support this? Because a majority believing in something objectively wrong does not make what they believe right. (earth is flat huh?). Some constant, anything comparable ? Ofcourse PoE as a game remains hack and slash/arpg, but the labyrinth part is bastardized. Its a common joke around here, but if they implemented a rhoa-racing event that gated passives, wouldnt that part of the game be bastardized poe? ARPG + racer? would you find that acceptable? " They already mentioned the trials will change (only once per league per difficulty). But this isnt the point i want to make here. Its clearly again your opinion (an opinion that i share too) but its clearly biased cause we both dont like this repetitive tutorial that serves no purpose (at least in our minds). But again there is nothing to support it, besides some people complaining about it. "I think you got it by now. You feel normal is a chore, while the random x player find cruel a chore, or the random y player finds the merciless one chore. Purely biased cause no one of you is having fun in that particular difficulty. "Why should it be good to have some or none or all? Were do you base your assumption? Just your personal satisfaction and enjoyment? And here is the issue, if the initial analysis/thoughts are biased how can really the answers/suggestion be truly helpful? They are not even the right ones to begin with because of the origin. In no case im trying to make you agree with reallocating the ascendancy points/creating new ascencion methods. Nor to make you despise the labyrinth or the playstyle it provides. Only to make people see how bad effect the labyrinth has truly to the game. Design-wise its a disgrace, a monstrocity that took the game to a totally different path. And no, different does not mean better in this case. " Cause that was part of the initial data they released. And since they found it worthy of release it must be at least interesting to them, and thus to us. I hope your previous burn injury healed by now. " Im actually glad you are enjoying the labyrinth mate. Your way of thinking is exactly what this forum needs. People who are enjoying the labyrinth have absolutely nothing to lose by reallocating or creating new ways (not new/different genre) to ascend. Game has absolutely nothing to lose by it too (in the contrary some of those left will even come back). Whats the deal with the white knights then? Simple their malevolent and miserable egoism. EDIT: 100 EDIT : " I took your suggestion to heart, and instantly pmed ziggyd here in the forums and at youtube, sent an email to stateofexile podcast site, and to chris wilson himself. Hopefully someone will have the decency (balls) to mention/talk about it. Good job getting the questions out there, Regulator. I hope for a productive interview tomorrow!

" Fair enough. I had forgotten that was part of the stats from earlier. " I was never injured, my burn resistances are maxed. :P Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.
