SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]
" Yeah, demanding video proof is a good way of "showing respect", as is calling someone "liar". But I can see where you're coming from. But as I've never used a screen capturing software before, it's not something I'm going to offer time on to prove I'm not a "liar", and I think that goes for many other people too. Shouldn't be necessary. Innocent, until proven guilty ;) I think this thread focuses too much on technicalities. At the end of the day, we are hare because the lab doesn't appeal to us as great content to this genre. It IS subjective, but when SO many people are disliking it, it becomes a problem that CAN be fixed. Can it be fixed from a "I HATE it, and no matter what they do, I will still hate it" perspective? Of course not. Can it be fixed from a "It's just not interesting enough, there are a lot of tweaks that can be done" perspective? Of course. And my keywords here, are keywords that I feel this genre is built upon (or should avoid): Boss encounters, choices, backtracking, design. But, I'll admit, I hated labyrinths in games long before they introduced it to PoE. I just don't like the concept. I've never been in one in real life, but I'm sure I would hate it as much - if not more. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Jul 10, 2017, 10:06:32 AM

" Then what do you say to the people that just want to hate the lab and offer nothing but effectively shit post that come up every so often that the lab is shit, doesn't fit blah blah? Because if you are part of the crowd that adjustments can help some of the issues you have with the lab, the people that act like kids may share some of your dislikes, but they aren't actually helping your case in point at all, if anything they are hurting it. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285
FeelsBadMan Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF. |

" I tend to ignore them, mostly. Do I share some views with them? Yes. Several. Do I think it fits in this genre the way they implemented it? No. But that is beside the point, really. I'm not here to REMOVE IT. Would I appreciate an alternative? Of course. Would I demand one? No. Do I think they can make it a tolerable experience with the foundation we've got? Yes. But that requires some effort, something a lot of people on "your" side don't think GGG should offer, because the lab is "perfect" the way it is. You have a way of debating where it seems like you think it's only the "haters" that have been pushing this thread towards the toilet, but it might just be my interpretations. If not, we have to read a couple of hundred pages together ;) I don't use to study my dump in the toilet, so I tend not to study other people's dumps on the forums either, unless it's directed to me personally, or my arguments. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Jul 10, 2017, 10:23:40 AM

"Thinking about it now in the context of ... The changes to Normal and Cruel lab actually give some semblance of trap progression that the labyrinths have been missing. Most of my complaints about traps when I first did labyrinth have been in the context that Normal and Cruel expect you to avoid trap layouts that are more extreme than what the trials of ascendancy teach you (and often have unavoidable trap movement patterns if you plan on attempting to dodge them while left click moving), but now the way Normal and Cruel lab work, you'll barely see rooms with traps and by the time you get to Merc lab, you'll more than likely have a decent movement skill leveled up. Of course, this doesn't fix the core problem and that traps simply don't work with PoE's movement system and have hitboxes that are way too large, but I suppose this is some form of awkward difficulty progression now. |

" I suppose so, it has a lot to do with your gaming background. Though I heard mirror mazes are cool, and getting lost to find your way back can be fun. But ok, not every time, got a funny story about that to lighten the mood. One day, a TV crew from the city decided to do a show depicting the way of life of the local mountain men. And so they ventured far from any sign of civilization to find an old shepherd tending his flock on the mountain slopes. After the obligatory pleasantries he agreed to give them an interview so they started, "So, what's the living like around here?" The shepherd answered: "It's hard for sure, but much like everywhere else otherwise, a string of events both happy and sad." "Excellent, can you recall one of those happy events for us?", they asked him. Thinking a bit, the shepherd began, "Sure, it was perhaps ten years ago when my neighbor's ewe got lost on the mountain. We raised everyone, formed a search party and found her in a mountain cave just before dawn, [Removed by Support] The reporter, nothing short of flabbergasted turned to the camera crew and whispered, "There's no way we can put this in the show, can we? Yeah, no way", so he addressed the shepherd again, "Ah, right, it was a merry event indeed, but can you perhaps remember something else?" After a short pause, the shepherd started: "Of course... it was perhaps five years ago when my neighbor's wife got lost on the mountain. We raised everyone, formed a search party and found her in a mountain cave just before dawn, [Removed by Support] Taking it in stride this time and noticing the pattern, the reporter tried to shuffle it up a bit, "That's fascinating, but enough about happy events for now, can you perhaps recall a sad event this time?" The shepherd answered right away, "Sure can, this spring here I got myself lost, and..." That's quite disturbing actually, raics. Wouldn't have expected something quite like that from you.
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done. Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. Last edited by Xavathos#5130 on Jul 10, 2017, 10:56:26 AM

This thread needs more of raics' stories.
[Removed by Support] I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready. Last edited by Stacey_GGG#0000 on Jul 10, 2017, 11:39:03 AM

" Could you try to speak of something that you have an actual clue about someday, or is it too much to ask ? 5th page of the thread, 5 posts moderated in a single page, and people started cursing way before that. Np, nice strawman, how ironic. " lol SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. " He isn't trying to defend the lab at this point he is just trying to win an argument. |
