SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]

AGAIN... D3 players haven't made any changes to PoE.

Only GGG has the power to do that.

Come to terms with your woefully misplaced blame.

are you serious? DID GGG LISTEN to their players? Cause i hear this everyfucking time since the beginning of PoE!
IF GGG didn't listen to them, we would still have today a very different, difficult, hardcore Arpg like it was back then.

Now because GGG are listening to their players, this is what we get. Ofc they want to please all of them cause back in Beta they were doing their thing...now they doing our thing...and cause of that they are expanding, more cash etc

Well the reality game designers have to face is that less and less people own a PC. They use Tablets, Laptops and Smartphones, which are less ideal to play games like PoE on.

That might not be such a problem here, PoE has always been ( a little less every year / month it seems ) a niche game, so it's fine imho.

However I highly doubt the Labyrinth has anything to do with that. A more likely thing is that the Labyrinth was something they wanted to do earlier, but couldn't because it would be unplayable with the old desync issues. Which is why they introduced it after fixing desync.

Rhoa racing though, it sounds cool and it isn't even so far of from a lore point. We still have to visit some of the folks, not sure which culture would do that. But I always wanted to see other ways to get Ascendancy, although it isn't a top priority. We could visit Theopolis at some point, were we could Ascend in arena fights, we could visit the Karui, maybe they are doing Rhoa races. I always like games that have games within, and since GGG already draw so many from Final Fantasy, why not the minigames (although they should be a bit less mini).

That I agree with.

SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

when they implement rhoa racing

Rhoa racing? You mean like the old isometric Rock 'n Roll Racing, with shooting and pimping out your rhoa for some extra bling? Dude, I'd be all over that.

I assume that was a reference to this fun thread.
Petition to get GGG to add Nascar-Style Racing to PoE.

After the debacle of adding platform content I am terrified of any new "optional" content.

With our luck you would need to master racing before doing the second round of content and if you lose you need to start a 2 hour race again.

If you REALLY think GGG did anything because 'casual D3ers' told them to, YOU'RE the naive one.

hahaha i'm laughing my ass off... go search the milions of posts, both here and reddit refairing to QoL changes, changing the game to be more accessible to everyone since d3 is already dead...changing the whole spike difficulty for the newcomers (cash-grabbers GGG), clear meta super speed, changing the playstyle from defences..to full DPS only and no defences at all and practically to show that the game is finally capable for porting to a console for all the noobs to play!

You really can't understand how fast the game was changing since the closed beta till today! Everything was done by small steps to nerf the game, so everyone will someday has access to the "difficult" game of PoE...which is no more difficult since DPS is the only way to beat the end game content.

Fuck! i did a naked run (no gear) with only a 2h mace only groundslam in HC and made it to CRUEL A4! ...where in beta you couldnt pass A2 normal with full gear! you feel bro?

First, GGG's desire to expand (the business, not the game) by creating a console port is nothing new:

www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/video-games/11064-Path-of-Exile-on-Consoles-Being-Considered

Second, implementing QoL changes and making the game more friendly to casuals aren't remotely the same thing, even if they appear to be so sometimes because they superficially overlap.

Most hardcore-vs.-casual arguments are red herrings. I personally think the game would gain a lot from being more accessible (better tutorials, clearer descriptions, more consistent mechanics, more transparent mechanics), and I also think the game would gain from being harder, and I also think the game would gain from being fairer (fewer one-shots, for starters).

That's three things, and they can all be done at the same time without conflicting with each other. The one thing they have in common is that they make the game more fun. Unlike, say, the Labyrinth, which has specific qualities which aren't shared by the rest of the game (objective fact) and which make it unfun to many players who otherwise love PoE's gameplay (also an objective fact).

Of course, some people do enjoy those specific, different qualities, and some people don't enjoy them but like to feel like they are being rewarded (to an extreme degree, in the case of the Uber Lab) for having endured an adverse experience.

But I continue to insist that fun/reward mechanics and not work/reward mechanics should guide this game's future direction, regardless of the impact of the Xbone announcement, and regardless of the number of "casual scrubs" GGG wants to court.

I am still looking forward to the next challenge. Action shooters are popular, no better! now maybe instead of 2 labs they can have frogger for the first and force a pvp moba in the second, LOL and DOTA are crazy popular you just need to get a top 100 ranking to progress! Plus they put all that work into PVP we should force our playerbase to embrace it. If they do not then we will force uberduper enchantments to get people to inflate the numbers.

Things aren't that bleak! After 4 years of debating SSF with forum bullies, it has finally arrived! 4 years of being forum bullied from now, maybe the ascendancies will be separated from the lab! :)

Or maybe you will have finally moved on with your life. Perhaps a hobby. A profession, something to do with the news...

I'm hoping.
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.

Fuck off with the off-topic snark already, Xavathos. It's really tiresome, and adds zero to the discussion. I actually knew before I even came into this thread that the latest post would be one of those posts (off topic and nasty) because it had your name on it. That is how consistent you are. Is that really what you want to be famous for on these forums?

@Reporter: What are you talking about? Has there been some major SSF development I'm not aware of?
