[2.6] life Mjolner done right by Rico - Berserker version

I tested it myself before I posted my original reply. It worked as intended (one power charge per cast of the Ball Lightning, when I was manually casting it). It also only generates one charge per cast when triggered by Mjolner (which I tested as well).

Your logic about skill order is still wrong even if Ball Lightning works as you think it does.

Your order:
Attack Hit -> Ball -> Discharge -> (Attack Hit)-> ....
Now only the first attack hit in a given chain will generate a charge, so after the first cycle both methods are equivalent (it's only the spells that are generating charges at this point).

So if your Ball Lightning is a crit that discharge is gonna be endurance only, leaving you with no endurance charges afterwards, since it may or may not get a power charge and all the endurance charges are gone.

Discharge first:
Attack Hit -> Discharge -> Ball -> (Attack Hit) -> ...

The Discharge will only come up empty if the attack crits (which is much more unlikely than the secondary skill critting). The secondary skill will have less crit chance since discharge has eaten most of the power charges, so it should give more power charges in most cases for the next discharge.

Basically you want the secondary lightning skill to trigger when power charges are low after a discharge rather when they are high before a discharge, if playing a crit build. For non crit, the secondary lightning skill should absolutely be first.

I think one explanation (the only one I can think of right now) is that Daresso and other bosses have spell dodge or block. So Arc only gets one shot at hitting but Ball Lightning gets two or three chances to hit per ball. Edit 1: Just spent over an hour in Ledge testing with Mjolner and the generic attack. There is something odd happening at times with some spells cast from Mjolner. Sometimes Arc can generate an extra charge when cast from Mjolner's effect. It doesn't always occur though and it never happens when self casting the spell. I could never generate more than one charge with Ball Lightning though. There is something very strange going on with the charge generation from Romira's.

Edit 2: I think I found something. It seems like shocking a mob, when you don't crit, from a spell cast from Mjolner counts as an extra hit. It's really easy to get two charges in Normal Ledge from one Arc cast from Mjolner (total 3 charges gained: 1 from the attack and 2 from Arc) but a bit more difficult in Merciless Ledge although it does happen. Strange stuff. Game doesn't make sense anymore.

Edit 3: Or it could be that when a mob is shocked, the one charge per spell does not apply anymore. Which is why you are getting more charges vs Daresso because he is being shocked often with Discharge and each Ball Lightning is thus triggering several charges. i.e. possible bug.

Edit 4: Yep, I'm pretty sure that what I described with the shocking above is happening. i.e. bug with Romira's generating more power charges on shocked mobs from spells like Ball Lightning that hits several times.

I did see a few strange things in my own testing but I assumed it was from hits from my tempest shield, counter attacks, and/or glove enchant. What you describe could be occuring, just from a few of the things I've seen.

It seems pretty quirky, and also really only works against bosses cause of the ignite interaction.

For Uber you must push max resitances further. To achieve that you must get legacy Saffels nad Conquerors Potency unique jevel. This way you will gain additional +2% max resitances when flasked putting you at 94/94%

Now thats still not enough with 5.7k EHP. So to push things even further you must take additional aura effectiveness nodes for a total of minimum 40% increased effect of your auras. This way your lvl 21 puritys pushed to lvl 23 will provide +7 max resitances. To achieve that you may follow this tree:

It has a tiny bit less attack speed and accuracy but alltogether this will setup you @ 95% max fire 95% max lightning resistances and with 5.7k ehp pool this should be enough to kill Uber. Avoid yellow storm calls and vaal flameblast thou as this I think still wont be tankable.


There's also an option to go EB/MOM with Ghost Reaver for additional 30% dmg reduction:

Throw life leech gem in your Mjolner and than use:



This way life will be restored via Kingsguard mechanics and ES via leeching. Overall this setup will have a bit less dmg but should provide great tankiness.

so i was gonna say you could shave 3 points off the lvl92 uber tree, then i got to your last post. still, unless that jewel socket on the bottom is in your future, moving the horizontal pathing in duelist to the middle row will shave 1 point off the bottom corner. anyways, nice build
Started playing this build a few days ago using some left over gear in Standard waiting for 2.3 to drop. Been having a lot of fun and it's probably one of the if not the best Mjölner builds I have played post-leech nerf. I'm considering switching out Repentance to a pair of solid pair of rare gloves and switch my helmet to Alpha's Howl, but I'm not sure yet.

Still got a long way to go with the character as I'm only level 85 at the moment, still got another 5-9 points left. Also need to level up my gems and reset my Cyclone once it hits level 20.

Well this change along with lvl 21 puritys will be required for a very end-game hard hitters (Core, Palace, Wasteland, Atziri, Crematorium with dmg modes, T12+ Beyond Bosses with dmg modes etc.) Other than that you will be fine @lvl 20 puritys with lower armor and for that Alpha's Howl is not that nesesery. Alpha's Howl is used to produce lvl 23 puritys for that 5% max to be than increased by aura eff nodes but also (some people miss that) Alpha's Howl along with Grace and Iron Reflexes produces quite a bit of armor boost for additional phys dmg reduction and eliminates a problem of carrying unfreeze flask.

Remeber to keep your molten aps at least @ 5.2.
