In fact, I suspected a normal Izaro tweak was coming. He was utterly brutal in some configurations, and I noted that in quite a few of my feedback posts. This is a good change. I'm sure he'll still be challenging for a lot of level-appropriate people, especially we self-finders.

I didn't even realise people were still talking about/to me in this thread. I have my own thread about the Labyrinth if you want to discuss it with me. I acknowledge this one is proverbially enemy territory and I feel it is inappropriate to crash the party, so to speak, with my contrarian views.

Either way, kcstar is correct. I view the normal Izaro change as a minor tweak compared to what most antagonists regarding the Labyrinth have been calling for: waypoints, detachment of Ascendancy, and so on.

Izaro has been adjusted to be easier in Normal Difficulty. His life has been reduced by 20%. Izaro's Ground Slam and Radiant Slash now deal 10% less damage. The life of Gargoyles, Idols, Portals (Thresholds), Essences, Fonts and Lieutenants has been reduced by 20%. The Goddess of Justice's Mortar Barrage has been reduced by 20% damage, and she no longer uses Teleport. These changes only apply to Normal difficulty.

At OP:

I had a long break from this game and came back to check this Lab everyone is crying about. Here are some points I like to sound off that are a bit different from your very well written feedback.

- Labyrinth isn't boring for me. It is utterly frustrating though. No waypoints is a no no for standard players like me. I choose this difficulty because I am not good of a player, have a mediocre PC but a terrific grinder (not sure if i should be proud of that). But that's the point of this expansion, to bring the HC feel to the game. For me, it is wrong. it should be an optional tool for leveling instead of a wall towards ascendancy. Although I have no idea why one should bash their head against the wall if this becames optional. Waiting for traps to finish their cycle is already eating enough patience for me, but to do it all over again after dying is just plain frustrating.

- Precision is needed in navigating traps, lavas and the more terrifying moving spiked contraptions. This game unfortunately doesn't provide that level of control. This kind of tomb-raider wannabe gameplay doesn't belong to PoE. But make no mistake I like it, its just not optimized for a clunky click based arpg where a millimeter extra movement may spell your death.

- Normal Difficulty isn't normal. I know it was nerfed already, but i played a hybrid witch Arc/OoS/tendrils build i concocted and it it nuts to even try enduring trap hits at the same level as the map - L31? After several deaths I over leveled. Came back at L50 and I managed to bring Izaro down to 80% HP until lag hits from all the green goo, Izzys ground attack and summoned skelly mobs killed me. So I hurdled the difficulty part but forgot that this game is still not optimized for all the beautiful effects but artificial difficulty it brings to the game. I died, barely leveling, ate 1 1/2 hrs of game time and just felt defeated.

- Newbies. I always think of what a new player will experience whenever an expansion comes up. I can only assume but I am doubtful that they will stick around for a frustration laden feature the lab brings. Without the lab, the game is already a handful to learn and deal with if you are new.

Conclusion: It's a great part of the expansion but fails because of it being a wall to ascendancy. Make a way to save progress and it will be welcomed. Make it viable for all kinds of builds not only tanky ones. On the other hand Perandus is amazing, premium tabs for trading is a plus, the new flasks added a level of customization and the new gems like orb of Storms in particular are great.

After failing normal lab for nth time, and because of a silly lag issue this time i'm done for the day or maybe even take another break unless something less annoying is done with Lab.

I'm not a fan either, mainly due to fatigue. I need a mental breather and I can't attain that in the lab.

1. Why do we need to do trials before labs? Once should be enough.

2. Please shorten the lab or make izaro not as difficult.

The Labyrinth is a very bad part of POE. I would not recommend the game to friends after having experienced it. It's just a bad design for this type of game.

I waited to do the normal Lab after I completed over leveled the content (around level 55).
I did not die, and it took me about 40 minutes to rush through it.

The entire time I was thinking, this is not fun, I hate this.

I will not level another character after this one because of this terrible design choice.

Master fetch quests are another annoying feature that have reduced the "fun" of this game.

Hope things change in the future otherwise this will probably be my last character.

Love the Ascendancy classes though, too bad they are gated by bad content.
