First Wave of Trade Improvements

They have the same reason for premium only as for the minimum lvl 20 character/new account for trade. I hope they won't add a free one cuz shops will be rolling with 100 accounts making $$$$ from nothing.

And if you are a normal player, you will be and should donate 10$ for a few tab when trading is _that_ necessary for you. You can still spam trade 1 and open threads AND LINK ITEMS BY HAND as I and I think many of us used to do back ago.

Let's be real, I'm pretty sure the huge majority of people who SELL shit on poe.trade have premium tabs just for the convenience of it. Hell, if you've played more than 100 hours on this game, you should give GGG something anyway, and if you haven't, you don't need to trade anyway 'cos you're a casual.

So w/e.

Nice changes. Will make it easier to set up shop.

I have 4 tabs and my trading goes fine with them coz i can evaluate and distribute shit efficiently.

Really thought you guys were better than this. Making the new trade features cash only puts up way more problems than you solve.

First, you don't unify the trade system so the forum bots will keep on plugging, and they don't need to if you did this right.

Second, you alienate so many people who were waiting for a better system. The "HURRHURR PROCUREMENT STILL EXISTS!" rally call isn't realistic. It's a bad system, there's more F2P people who were waiting for trade improvements to trade than actually use the forum bots to list items.

Third it fucks actual paying customers in the ass who bought your normal tabs, like me. I don't care about coloring and naming, the normal tabs look neater to me and I can remember what number is associated with what stuff. I never liked premium tabs to begin with, wasn't even a cost saving measure.

Gating trade tabs behind paywalls makes you look like assholes, doesn't do anything to improve trade, and doesn't solve any issues on your end. Please tell us how this is good. You can't, it's not going to make you any money, it's just a salt farm. Make public tab an an option for all tabs. Bad, bad GGG.

Maybe if they gave every player one premium stash tab on one condition and that is that they would delete their trade threads (don't know how difficult would it be to check this). I assume all f2p players would do this so there would be less stuff on trade forums for bots to read -> less strain and ultimately higher usage of GGG's new trade system (after they do some trade browser or something).

Why so much rage? If you want to trade just a little faster and support GGG, then buy premium stash tabs. Otherwise stick with Acquisition, no big deal.

"The first is that it wasn't that user-friendly. Downloading a third-party application that you need to give your login credentials to rightly sets off alarm bells for many people. A lot more users just didn't find out about these tools or were not willing to put in the effort to use them.

The second is that it was really inefficient. The trade forums were never designed to be scraped by indexers, nor updated that frequently. As more and more users have been using that system we have been running into more and more scaling issues."

GGG said that. in-game official trading system > third party external trading system.
i play and support this game from open beta, because i wanted it, not because i'm forced to do it.
Now i'm kinda forced to buy tabs and i don't like to be forced. That's the big deal.
do people with 3 challenges complete really bitch about $1.5 upgrade that is 100% optional? Imagine what they could've done if they had a single premium stash tab.

Well haters will hate, still gg GGG

But in DOTA2 you have to pay to enter, thus if you don't pay you can never win
You are misinformed. You don't have to pay to enter DotA2.

There is literally no investment required.

In fact, in practice, you can make money just by playing (even badly) due to random cosmetic items dropping, which have monetary value.
You even have to pay to watch comp's to improve your own game. I am not against paying to enter a competition, but in poe you do not have to pay to be part of the competitive scene (like racing). Talking about racing, have we ever seen anyone even tried to rename a stash tab during a race?
i do have a couple premium tab's, but i still curious in why not put this feature in regular tab's too, i mean why not?, why they would do this?, the only reason i can think is because regular tabs can't be priced at all, and if u think about this make a lot of sense, i mean ggg it is the most honest company i ever seen out there, and i don't think they would do this if they have any other way.

Thats the gist of it. I can spend money on PoE and DotA 2 on a whim for cosmetics or whatever else, did it many times already. Making money purchases mandatory leaves a sore taste in my mouth and makes me like the game less as a whole though.

Furthermore agreeing to this may incentivize GGG to continue adding in small paywalls here and there until suddenly the game becomes quite different for a completely F2P guy in comparison to someone who pays his dues.

Finally shut the hell up with the "you played so much now pay them for your good times" crap. You don't tell me how to spend my money, lol. Hate it when people act like this.

You can't find or won't be able to find in the close future a game like path of exile. You needed to buy d2, torchlight, all of them. You play this for _free_ with it's huge content and you are whining because IN THE FIRST WAVE they couldn't do it in other ways, because tab naming system, or webshops or anything.
