First Wave of Trade Improvements

I don't speak for everyone, but I would imagine that most people upset about this are not pining over a few dollars. What these people are upset about is the direction this is heading or could head to. Up until this point, the cash shop was completely voluntary. PoE was "Pay to not look like crap". Now, theres a large incentive to spend money. And as a previous poster said...Whats next? Additional perks inside of supporter packs?

As I suspected, it was just easiest to roll out the functionality to premium stash tabs first. If you read between the lines, GGG has just confirmed that future iterative trade improvements will allow players with regular stash tabs to use the new trade system (why? because that's all you have if you don't spend money).

Just wait for the future announcements guys. From GGG's point of view it really does make sense for them to roll out to premium stash tabs first as it involves a subset of the PoE community, and far lesser tabs to index. You can legitimately gripe about missing out on this first wave if you don't own premium tabs but in the meantime, nothing about current trade methods changes for you - you can now wait for the future updates OR spend a few bucks and get some premium stash tabs now.

Essentially, those that have premium tabs paid for the privilege to be Beta testers of the new functionality.

Might be but why arent they telling us that it will also be available to normal tab ?

Just saw trackpete video about the feature and I bet you this going to be the norm and a premium tab is going to be mandatory.

Indeed, I don't care about the 15 point tab upgrade. I care about introducing a pain in the ass to all of us because we supported the GGG model that we've been sold for years.

A couple people are so sure they'll have Phase 2 and 3 out soon, and that those will make it all better for everyone. Maybe they will, but look how long it's taken for Phase 1. And what do we get? "Give us money or you can't trade. LOL okay, you can still use the old way ... but wait, pretty soon that won't work either."

Come on, GGG; you're supposed to be better than this.

That's a wild guess, not reading between the lines.
I understand that there will be more improvements but "I would like to mention that the use of the public stash tab system is entirely optional. We are not preventing the use of any of the old tools, and they will continue to work so long as the third-party websites continue to index the trade forums." can only make players regret not having premium and rush to get them before 3rd party stops supporting them.
Which will eventually end up being not necessary if what you guess comes true.
Add the fact that they didn't throw a hint on this weekend's stash sale right before the announcement and you have a scam-scam situation from an honest company.

why premium :c give us 1 free tab at least

Lame! Sounds like an 'entitled generation' comment.

Just because the game is free to play doesn't mean everything within the game is free. I mean why else would I have spent $600 supporting GGG? Not only does it feel right but I also have some cool MTX' and feel I've paid for value received.

Having more than 4 stash tabs is a huge incentive to spend money, and that's been around since beta. I'm not sure how many people are still running around after hundreds of hours on 4 stash tabs, but I would think it would be painful.

Also, again, they have said (Poe.trade, I believe) that they will NOT continue to index the trade forums.

It seems like the tab-wide pricing works by overriding the tab name, is there anyway to have a tab wide price while maintaining a custom-named tab?

I second this, it's the first thing I thought of after my initial holy shit reaction.

You spent $600 because you believed in the company and their model, wanted to support them, and wanted cool effects that do not affect the actual gameplay.

This decision goes directly against that model, and is a P2W feature beneath what we thought GGG was all about.

this is the first time in PoE that there's content available only to people who bought something for real money. Why dont you make it work with all stash tabs, not only premium ones?
I always loved PoE for beeing 100% free. This sounds a bit like: hey, do you want to get more currency via trade? come buy premium stash stabs.

Nothing wrong with that IMO. If people don't want to spend the US$1.50 on a premium stash tab they can trade the old way - many folks have got 'rich' doing that over the last couple of years.

This is paying for convenience - kind of like having more stash tabs is convenient. They cost so why shouldn't this?

Too many moaners who were obviously making bank the old way and are scared they'll not be able to flip stuff so easily now. I just checked your gear and can see that you've obviously been very good at trading. Worried that now GGG have levelled the playing field?
