Are you a core player?

I sure hope so, otherwise what am I even doing with my time? -.-

POE fulfill the criteria in a town hub. It is similar to many MMO with town hubs with a party limit.

Leagues do as well within the context of the economy.

Really it's great that PoE is an mmo. Take GD for example, a better arpg but because it doesn't have any real social elements it doesn't stand a chance. PoE feels vibrant, alive and evolving because it's an mmo, it's definitely a good thing.

truly brilliant statement, really, somewhat true, but still, incredibly ignorant and retarded

over time, they mean its happening now, or by the year 2020, 2120 or what? I guess in 2120 the game will be dead.

it implies that PoE was more popular in 2013, compared to these days. We have had many "game is dead" threads here, sure. The author of this statement has probably similar intellectual potential as makers of such threads. Only one look at the GGG staff number count over time says something completely different

the two mentioned games cant be compared for many reasons, one of them being massively hyped, simple AAA game by #1 AAA company oriented to the masses, the latter is f2p, very complex game made by "unknown" developers, targeting minor group of players who dont like current braindead games trend. D3 had guaranteed millions of copies sold the day it was announced, while PoE..? Poe releases major upgrades on regular basis (all for free), while D3..? etc etc etc

PoE has loyal grateful core players, playing on regular basis. It has also many regular returning players, coming back each ladder reset. Each major update also bring many new players in, some of them becoming core or returning players. Now we are at the stage where both GGG and the playerbase is growing, but sure, it cannot last forever

I played a core map once does that count?
I would say I am a core player. I joined during the last days of the open beta, which was when I found out about the game. ( Joined Oct 21, 2013 - game released Oct 23, 2013)

I have played most of the temp league since then, with intermittent time off due to binging in other games periodically.
I am a fairweather friend.

I only play because I enjoy the game, and as soon as I stop enjoying it I am going to turn into a bitter fuck who can't stop posting negative things in the forums. Although, I will pretend I am doing it because "The Game Lost Its Artistic Vision And Got All Casual".

Hmm, actually this might make me a core player :)
