I'll be taking nothing but life nodes until 80 and then just add damage as I level from there.

This is a really cool build that I plan on doing when I have enough currency later in the league. It's doubly awesome that my gladiator also uses the Retch so I get that double dip.

I went a significant different route than the OP. I decided to go Lightning Coil for mitigation cuz lightning cuz Thor and am only using Warlord's Mark for my curse.
I am questioning my decision to go into the Duelist area and may respec out of it for Scion life and more damage.

Is the retch absolutely essential to the build or can I get away with just using Feastbind for awhile?

Just effortlessly face-tanked Izaro in Merc at level 76 with my loadout. Izaro viable! Time to get farming...

To answer the Atziri question...I don't expect split phase to be very pleasant and I wasn't planning on even trying.

@Tagmatar : The third curse is not mandatory since you already have temp chains. But for HC I'd recommand using it. Enfeeble really helps a lots for survivability.

@junttto : For Atziri's split phase, well, since we don't have insta leech with Vinktar anymore it's kinda annoyning. In Talisman league with old version of Vessel of Vintkar you could obliterate the split phase in seconds. Now you probably should try storm call.

@Anbokr : THe retch is really not mandatory for the build. The only thing that made me use it is the increased flask duration when Vinktar was insta leech. Now that Vinktar is not it is less usefull and can easily be replaced by a nice +50str +90 life leather belt.

Quick question: is the endurance charge from Oak merciless still necessary for softcore? Or can we just take the talent point?

Endurance charges helps a lot even in SC. Gives you better phys mitigation (we never get enough phys mitigation), less blood rage degen and longer IC. But if you feel like you don't need the 7th endurance charge you can get the skill point ofc.

The 10% penetration is a great dmg increase but it seems to me that it is not worth 4 points. Maybe in SC it can be good.

Gotta test if there is a big difference between taking this node or Augury of Penitence (Nearby enemies deal 5% less and take 10% increased dmg (which equivalent to "you deal 10%more dmg on them") in terms of DPS.

I guess the best DPS option would be Augury of Penitence + Inevitable Judgement. We kinda don't need 20 spell dmg and 10 attack speed.
