Mathil's Voltaxic Crit LA/Blast Rain - Cruise control the entire game. Uber Atziri Viable 2.2 ready

I'm testing my Voltaxic Pathfinder archer after the nerf.

The only combo which can give some real annoyance is ele reflect / -max so far. I still have to get the 2 extra ascendancy points in the endgame labyrinth (which should help a lot against reflect foes, the new Nature's boon sounds amazing).

I want to say the build is still more than enjoyable. The damage is almost the same as before for me, since I replaced Void Manipulation with Increased Critical strikes in both Blast Rain and LA setup. Clear speed is untouched. Still super fast.

My damage setups are now these:

LA | GMP | Chain | WED | Added Lightning | Increased Critical Strikes
BR | Faster Attacks | WED | Added Lightning | Increased Critical Strikes | Concentrated effect

I poison on hit with all the damage I do, since I am a Pathfinder.

I also rearranged my passive tree to counteract the nerfs:

if you want more safety, add a Topaz flask in the mix.

Sure, it can't be played blindfolded as before. If you target the mirrored Atziri clone, you will die.

And I don't know if you can safely play using the Frost Wall + pierce LA method in reflect maps in 2.3. For me it's absolutely not required and I still prefer using Blast Rain for single target. Frost Wall is a wander thing.

Does anyone know if Frost wall and Pierce LA still works?

It does.
This game is an illusion, exile.
But is Void Manipulation still the 6th gem to add cause of the chaos nerf or is there a better one? For the Pierce LA build

Go for LA / Pierce / GMP / Added Lightning / WED / Increased Critical Strikes.
If I wanted to adapt this build for use with a Drillneck, can anyone let me know what I'd need to change (If anything) to make it work?
I have a question and it's probably obvious to most but it's annoying me.

Why do people use Chain instead of Pierce for LA? I was using Pierce since I found one early on and only thought to switch to Chain at level 62 or something. My tooltip dps for LA drops when switching between them (I know tooltip dps isn't everything) and it seems like I'm clearing packs a lot slower than I was before. With pierce, I would hit a large pack once and everything died. Now I hit once and see hundreds of arrows chaining between every monster, but they don't die. It takes me 2-3 shots to kill trash packs. I get that chain hit everything around which is useful in some situations, but generally when fighting large packs they will be grouped anyways so pierce does effectively the same, but has more damage instead of less.

I'm sure it's been tested often but I'm not seeing good results from this so hopefully someone has the math to support it.
Think Chain was old technology (has been used heavily in the past with SA and LA).

Pierce got huge buffs in 2.2 with GGG's obsession on stacking More Multipliers, so it was worth investing a link into. Previously, you got a measly 10% Increased Projectile Damage (not More Projectile Damage) and some Pierce Chance, but not More Projectile Damage % like now.
