[2.2] "Duallant" DW Slayer by fiqst

I started this build on talisman softcore, first with dual strike until i saw the update with lightning strike and now i love LS <3

ive been playing it without a bino´s, currently at 50% to 86.
bought a LC and got 6s in around 180 jewellers and 5l in 4 fuses.
bought the dagger i am using for 1 chaos, only prob i had was the int.

My Gear:

i got 2 jewel spots on the tree but no jewells yet. gonna try to buy a bino´s today if ppl wanna accept mixed currency :D

Thanks for the awesome build, prolly gonna keep playing after the talisman leauge
Please post ur gear and stats again! im basing my character to yours
Thanks for the questions and feedback guys!

Would it be possible for you to add passive trees for each skill in the original guide?

Like the optimized passive tree depending on the skill you go for (LS vs DS vs FB, etc....)

I think that will really help people to decide / choose which path to take and get the full comparison.

Otherwise, great job. This is a very interesting guide / thread!

Thank you!

I use the same tree for everything in this guide.

So yes, the tree is not optimised for projectile damage but it's boss killing that we're aiming for.

is it doable without bino ?

cant afford it for now

Can be done, the only dagger specific nodes i use is the adder's touch cluster so without them, you can use any 1h weapon.

Having said that, this build centres around Bino's. Crit chance, life regen, poison prolif and the big crits that set of the HoA overkill is what the build is about.

I only reach about 60k fully buffed, and i just don't understand how i will ever be able to reach anything near 600k.

60k without bino, dps-centric equipment, a 5L and at level 80 seems like a good start to me.

The build is all about crit, and bino plays a big part in that, also other factors like flat phys and crit multi in an amulet, diamond rings and having a 6L makes the difference.

Thanks mate!

Once you get bino and start the poison/regen gameplay, the difference is night and day.

It's all in the op. It was updated recently so you may have missed the updates

So many strikes within one breath.
But only one strike needed, for certain death.
Got me a bino´s yesterday and changed some items so i could equip my snakebites.
Running LS-AFD-MS-FA-MPD.
All gems are 18-19 with no quality
this is the damage i managed to reach with charges :)
I love when u get Corrupted blood and are able to just keep killing stuff without using a flask coz the reg

Thanks for sharing mate! Things are looking good. Your accuracy seems a little low, boosting it up to 90+% will improve the performance of everything. I suggest 150+ accuracy in each ring and amulet.

News:

A new skill has been revealed, Earthquake. This skill may or may not be useful in this build but the tidbit about the reduced duration gem is exciting.

"the Less Duration support gem, which will soon also grant More Damage to duration skills."

This is great for

The downside of static strike is the delay of the AoE flash, you usually kill your target with the initial hit before it goes off so it often ends up wasted.

Adding a reduced duration gem will bring it closer to the 2 hit combo it should be and the more damage factor will make it a dps gem also.

Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but can you explain how projectile dmg vs melee affect boss killing ? I thought having melee dmg goes to waste when using lightning strike since it's projectiles?

Also I understand that FB is melee until it hits then does projectile dmg which is equal to the initial melee hit .... therefore does this mean that the passive tree is already optimized for frost blades since melee = projectile dmg with this skill? Correct me if I am wrong....

Lastly I saw in ur DS 79 arsenal video you had cwdt + immortal call triggering when you were taking dmg, but you also had flicker strike.... what set up did you use / which gem grouping did you replace with?

From the wiki:
"Lightning Strike is a melee attack, but one that has the secondary effect of launching projectiles"

The build is centred around the initial melee attack, thats what i meant by boss killing since the dps is directly applied to the boss.

The after effect of the lightning projectiles does not take into account the disembowelling cluster, mpd gem or the abyssus, so it's weaker by far. I lack the mental capacity to calculate the true dps of them, but it feels like 60% of the melee damage.

Same answer as above, the tree is optimised for the melee portion of each skill and the melee factors don't apply to the projectiles.

The beauty of FB, however, is the long range nature of the skill. You can stand pretty far away from your target and still apply pure melee damage.

I did some testing last night and i found that FB benefits greatly from melee splash. Because the range is so long, melee splash has a massive AoE. I have replaced added fire with melee splash for now.

That run was done when i was using hatred instead of the 4L HoA-prolif. I had the extra slots to include a cwdt setup.

It was a big toss-up between hatred and HoA. Freezing mobs vs AoE DoT, 1 gem vs 4 gems, cwdt vs no cwdt.

I chose hoa because i wanted clear speed over safety. You can always choose hatred if you wish.

Hey man I love your build but I cant get past t8 solo. USUALLY mob clear is OK but bosses rip me. I have tried to copy most of your gear and I do great dmg but I die really fast in like t10+ groups. Do you have any suggestions? I copied ur spec and heres my gear. Im ujsing HOTA/Assassins mark w/ blashphemy but im thinking of switch to enfeeble to take less dmg. Let me know THANKS!

Spoiler

Hey, I am really interested in this build. Just wondering for leveling purposes which nodes should I prioritize at what point?
