Just going to flat out say it: The art assets in this game are not up to quality

You took something funny, and made it not funny. You sir, have tried too hard.
Can you give some examples of games that has better aesthetics? I really like how PoE looks, of course it can always be improved, but I like the direction it's going. Maybe you could show me how it should be done right.
Danskere: PM mig, hvis I har brug for en guild.
Moved to Beta Art, Areas and Effects Feedback so the artists are more likely to read about how much you hate all their hard work.
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
First in the credits!

Say what you want about the core game of diablo 3, the artwork was some of the best there has ever been in a game:

I'll probably recieve some hate for this, but truly the visuals in D3 are phenominal and incredibly well executed. Painterly, Vibrant, and yet still gritty.

Yea, I pretty much thought you would give that reference. Anyways, I don't dislike the aesthetics in D3, I just prefer the D1/D2 look over it - which PoE is inspired by. D3 is cartoony, which isn't for me.

What guy above me said. Giving D3 as a reference for better graphics or aesthetics doesn't help your point actually. The two games are going completely different artstyle directions. Personally PoE art/graphics is the best of all the ARPG games out there. Even better than D3. But that is just my opinion. Because all art/graphics is subjective and different for each person.

To me, the graphics are more immersive as a player than other said games.
I used to play Diablo 3, then I realized it doesn't have a Shabby Jerkin.

Sure, the best art directions can be subjective, but not all areas of art are as subjective as others. In the areas of craft and execution this game is suffering, this isn't about opinion, this is about the execution of the artists.

This is going to be my last post in this thread, I said what I feel needed to be said. Spam as much fanboyism as you want, it doesn't change the fact that the art in the game is indeed lacking.

If I were to ask you which drawing was better:

Which would you pick? I'd imagine even if you prefer a cartoony style, you'd still pick the drop rendering.

Alright. Can you give references? I guess you have some scientific proof? Any theories to support your statements? Does it make me a fanboy if I choose the product I prefer? I'm confused.

I edited my post with a couple pictures to illustrate my point. It's an exaggeration, I'm not saying the path of exile artists work at a 7 year old level, but the art does feel lacking.

Is this really necessary though? Is it really so difficult to describe the disparity between good art and bad art? This discussion is ridiculous.
