(Talisman) 2.1 Essence Drain/Contagion build (Chaos Proliferator)

I use a similar build. Wrecking everything so far, but haven't gotten to try anything above t5 maps. There appears to be a bug with contagion/Essence drain and mobs shattering from being frozen, which crashes the game and erases everything from the last instance. Hopefully they fix it soon so I can keep playing with my buddy :)

Take a look at my character Triple_Dukes for passive tree so far that has worked well for me. Next 4 levels will all be jewel slots, yum.

Nice build! I've done something similar and picked up many of the same nodes. I'm curious why you didn't go for Atrophy in the top right? Would take 10 points to get there. I'm assuming this didn't leave you with enough HP?

Yeah didn't leave me with enough life and I honestly don't feel like the extra damage is necessary at this point.

It's indeed a bit clunky but you can clear stuff insanely fast if things align correctly. End game survivability could be a pain though.

Actually that's what concerns me too.

How do you handle survivability?

There seems to be 3 key points with any ED/C/W build.

1st is how to to "spread" the damage.

2nd how to maximise said damge

3rd how to survive!

Theres has been some testing done on these builds and have produced interesting results on each point.
Below is what i have found.

1st is how to to "spread" the damage. -
2 options here or even both! A.Use spell totem+inc area+ contagion+Faster Casting. B. Get a Bino's

2nd how to maximise said dmge
This is the easiest part, all the more modifiers makes this easy... slower proj,Void,ControledD,rapid D makes 4 more multies then add ED with a poison gem.
For Bosses use a spell totem,wither,faster casting,spell echo.
for really stubborn bosses cast a vul curse and its GG.
3rd how to survive!
So im yet to try it but i have 3 options here.
1. go down the tree to acrobatics - thats what im doing at the moment helps alot!
2. Bino's.... its regen affect works with ED.
3. Use Atziri flask. (note that this will only work if you are casting ED you will NOT leech off the degen.)

I am happy to share my thoughts / tests with anyone i have 2 builds in mind the 1st is a low life dual curse version im planning for std someday.
the 2nd i have is the one im using atm in talisman which is a life based acro build.

Was going for this build...
But Witch seems just better for it : more life, more spell dmg, same chaos dmg...

Less jewel sockets, inefficient pathing, nty on Witch, no way you're getting the same life regen.

Btw ED's DoT scales off projectile damage as well.

I agree on sockets but thats it... Lol@pathing&liferegen...
