Hidden Library Refuge

League: Standard
Character: Sir_Percival_DieAlot

Theme:
This Elreon Hideout follows a Refuge Theme. It was somehow inspired by the overall look of Lioneye's Watch. I really love the beginning of the Game: You are stranded and surrounded by Sea Creatures and Zombies. After fighting through the Ranks of the living Dead and successfully facing Hillock you finally reach Lioneye's Watch. A sanctuary for all those lost and dammed souls of Wreaclast who try to survive in an dangerous environment. I like how the old remains of an ancient lighthouse were improvised to make a Camp with all that is needed to withhold wild creatures and give shelter to exhausted Survivors. I tried hard to capture this theme and put it into a different spot of Wreaclast.

Why choosing the Library?
It's simple: The maze-like build of the old library will make a perfect spot for a hidden Refuge. With all those solitary corridors and contorted paths it's a very good place to hide. Additionally the bookshelves would be a great basis to define rooms. Each room of the hideout has its certain function. Most rooms are used as dwelling places for refugees, some others are Workplaces for Smith/Weaponmaking, Storage or Studies. Therefore you find many Beds and all kinds of needed stuff lying around or piled up in corners. The Refugees collect everything that might become handy some day.

The Hideout:
Entrance:

Upon Entering my hideout you are greeted by a mess of junk, trees and lights. 4 Main thoroughfares are leading to different isolated Sections of the refuge. But one thing is for sure: Whatever Path you will choose, you will find Litter, old books and frightened Refugees everywhere! This is a very important feature of my hideout: Imagine you are hiding somewhere deep inside an old library surrounded by evil creatures. It is hard to find furniture and other stuff in mint condition. I'll introduce the 4 Sections clock-wise beginning in the south-west.

South-West

Following the path leading to the South-West you'll find the working Place. Here you will find most useful tools and probably the most unimpaired selection of hardware around. In the middle of this room is a fire bowl. It spends light, heat and can be used as smithing fire as well. I added much Detail to include the Master Tools as good as possible. For example: I put the Headstones in an Oriath Weapon Chest. The green maze looks as if this chest contains a bunch of magical artifacts.

North-West - Part 1

The Path leading to the north-west will split into two hallways featuring a bunch of smaller rooms. On the left you'll find two dwelling places. One is inhabited by Haku, the other one by a woman holding her baby. I combined many bookshelves and obstacles to build up small rooms like that (probably most part of my Hideout is impassable. The remaining Ways are very linear)

North-West - Part 2

The path on the right will lead through the Crypt. A very mystical place inhabited by Catharina. To make a perfect contrast to the orange parts I used different green lights in this room. As you can See the walls and the floor of the crypt look like a cave.

North-West - Part 3

If you dare to enter the crypt you can reach the Arena way up north! It is the biggest room which has just one purpose: Entertainment. If the Refugees manage to capture Oriath Patrols sneaking around the library or one of those evil beasts which are living inside the never-ending Hallways (like Green-Basilisks :D) they let them fight inside the Arena for Entertainment purpose. Betting on who will win or lose, talking to one another and having a drink to forget the misery they live in. Additionally I use this room for Vorici or Vagan (if i level them). I had really fun building this messy and gory room!

North-East - Part 1

The third main thoroughfare will lead to the map-room. It is the longest path. While walking through dwelling places and small cooking spots you will end up facing a Golden Statue holding the banner of the true Journeyman (I was told that this was one of the great legends wandering through the sands of wreaclast to find adventure and riches. Well others say, it was just a random guy who was worshiping a false god named Kuduku. We will never know what really happened!) Beyond this statue you will find Elreon, Zana and my Stash nearby. And of course piles of unread books everywhere!

North-East - Part 2

Hidden behind some bookshelves you will find the mapping room. It is a solitary room, cold and dusty. Some Refugees use it as a Storage Room for unused things. In the middle of the room you'll find a strange device with brazen rings spinning around. The skull of an mysterious animals stares at the device as if it is waiting for something to happen. Elreon is sure that someone must have written down the Secrets of this room somewhere in this library. For decades he is in search for the scrolls but he hasn't found them yet.

South-East

Last but not least you can follow the last of the 4 main thoroughfares. It is a short path leading to one of the most important spots of the Hideout: The Kitchen/Food Store. Here you can buy or trade in for all kinds of eatable 'things'. Although Old Pete (the Quartermaster) claims that all proposals are fresh and atoxic you always buy at your own Risk. If you are lucky you get rat-meat if not... well, i think the putrid meat of a Rhoa will be the last evil to bother.

Druid's Lair

League: Hardcore
Character: Davtuhmal

Theme:
This Tora Hideout follows a Verdant/Nature based theme. Especially in hardcore-mode you need a calm and peaceful place to rest between hard hitting boss- and map-runs. A place to clear your mind and worship earthbound Spirits. Therefore my Hideout consists of many worshiping Shrines, all linked by hidden trails beneath the undergrowth. If you know how to find the hidden paths you do well. Before entering my Hideout a well-meant hint: As long as you follow the white flowers you'll be ok. If you dare to leave your path you 'll be lost in the deep Forest forever

The Hideout:
Entrance:

Davtuhmal: 'Hello there Wanderer. Let me tell you some Storys about the Place your are about to visit. After entering the Druid's Lair you will find yourself in the glace of an ancient Menhir. You can feel its might while blue waves of light are pulsing beneath your feet. This Menhir was build centuries ago. It is used to hold up Rituals for consulting the constellation of the Stars. Some say that you might take a look into your future if the stars are right. Starting from this point you can move on in any direction. The most obvious path to choose would be the one introduced by the great stone gate in the south. It is the safest but longest way to explore the Lair. The other Possibilities to move on would be to enter the deep forest around you. But be warned, if you don't know how to read the hidden tracks you might get lost!'

West

Davtuhmal: 'Make sure to be equipped with your best gear, my friend. Many Dangers lure inside the dark Forest. Not only poisonous spiders or snakes, but also Assassins and Hunters might cross you way!'

Davtuhmal: 'If you follow the path beneath the split Oak Tree in the south-west you might find a hidden grotto. But be careful. This holy ground is devoted to the Goddess of Death! You wouldn't be the first adventure who didn't make his return from there! I give you this advice: Be silent and watch your steps. Behind the Statue there is a hidden path leading to the exit in the north.'

North

Davtuhmal: 'If you manage to get into the northern part of the Forest you might find a Shrine of Wisdom. There is this strange Man called Haku. He always speaks about ancestral Spirits and stuff like that. Quite an entertaining Fellow if you ask me. You can read Scrolls and Call upon the spiritual Powers of the Shrine to enchant your Equipments with mighty Spells. Sorry, I'm starting to speak about ancestral spirits, too. Let us speak about something else instead. You have mentioned a map of this place earlier. Let me See it.... Well... I am afraid to tell you this, but your Map seems to be outdated. See. The river marked on that spot doesen't exist. Take a Look around. Do you see a River here? Well, I don't.'

Far North

Spoiler

Devices:

Pump:

Altar:

Davtuhmal: 'And don't forget to visit the place far in the north! There is a Stone Bridge leading to an ancient temple. You have to see it! This temple was built to bestow honor upon the God of the hunt. But unfortunately it was overtaken by the Oriath Army. They tried to tap the ancient powers dwelling beneath the holy ground with evil Devices and Engines. They started to pump wastewater into the sea. What a mess! Defiling the spiritual place they destroyed the beauty of it. But there is a small light of hope. After the deployed soldiers were successfully defeated mother nature might have a chance to regrowth in full splendor. I'm looking forward to see the temple in its old glory!'

East

Davtuhmal: 'That's it for now. Ohhh wait! There is one last thing to mention: If you wander along the path leading to the East you might find an old Fond. Whatever comes into your mind, do not drink the Water! Never! I heard rumors that the water will turn you into a tree if you are not blessed by the Divine. I don't know if this correct, but I do know that many foolish didn't mind the warnings. Now their hearts stand still and their corpses are cold. So be warned my Friend.'

Inside out
Nature has taken over what used to be indoors, so me and my masters have made ourselves
comfortable outdoors instead.

League: standard
Character: Mesousarah

Main area is all about easy access to stash, masters and portals.

What was inside, is now outside. In the back, a fishing master has found a good spot to set up camp (still waiting for a daily fishing quest though)

Zoomed in loot corner. You can't have too much zoom on loot.

Fireside chair for lootless evenings. It would be cozy if it wasn't for the constant smell of fish drifting in from the master shed next door.

Crafting area among the trees.

Outdoor (or is it indoor?) onsen.

The masters have their own shed. I don't ask what they are doing there.

Bottomless wishing well. I throw currency in, despair comes out.

The Conflict of Three

League: Standard

Hideout: Immaculate hideout

This hideout is based off of my interest in mobas and how they managed to pit warriors(champions, etc.) in each kingdom (factions, etc.) into one field to fight. In this case, it is the battle between three forces with different ideals and I used Zana's hideout as well as three different thrones mtx to separate the three factions.

The first faction is led by Leo. They believe in strength and patriarchy.

I used a volcanic/fiery theme for this faction that shows their ferocity, and strength. Fire pits hidden in rocks along with glowing embers to get the whole feeling that this area is extremely hot. It has stone slabs as flooring to go along with the theme.

The entrance of the area is a tunnel shown by the use of bones and rocks. And Leo, of course, is by his throne (Infernal Throne mtx) watching over his belongings and also the waypoint hidden by a giant bonfire.

The second faction is led by Tora. They are a faction that believe in purity of the grounds.

The entrance to this faction is lined with trees and torches that lights up the pathway. At the end of this area is Tora on her throne (Verdant Throne mtx). This area is surrounded by trees and lit up with torches. I also covered the floor with debris to change the floor to mimic an earthy floor, filled with soil and rocks. This area is made to feel calming and easy on the eyes to go along with the identity of this faction.

The final faction is led by Catarina. This faction believe in corruption, chaos, and death.

Using trees and decorated trees, this shows the brutality of this faction with what looks like a carving of a person screaming on a tree next to Catarina and the other tree next to her is decorated with skulls. In front of Catarina is also an altar for her to do her ritual to summon unspeakable beings by sacrificing exiles. This, ritual when done, opens up portals (using a map device) to another dimension to summon demons, monsters, etc. so that Catarina can spread her corruption towards the other factions. I used smogs, smokes, corruption, etc. to produce the atmosphere along with wisps (to show souls).

The three entrances to the factions is overseen by Zana who acts as the judge to the conflict. The three entrances are also different which can be seen from the bony entrance of Leo's area, the forest entrance to Tora's area and the impaled corpses which marks the entrance of Catarina's area.

Master crafting benches are hidden throughout the three factions, Leo's area contain Haku's, Vagan's and Vorici's crafting benches, Tora's area contain Elreon's and Tora's crafting benches and the rest of the crafting benches is on Catarina's area. The stashes are by Zana on the crossroad.

Created on Warbands League. I started late this league so I didn't use very many high cost pieces.

Theme is an encampment in old forest ruins. Like the kind of place you'd find Robin Hood and his merry men hiding out.

Screenshot 1: The main entrance view. There's a crashed boat and some ruins. All long forgotten in this humble little forest clearing.

Screenshot 2: Was going for a forest kitchen kind of setup here. You can see Tora has done quite well pilfering from the forest, and she's even taught one of those barbaric exiles how to fish!
http://i.imgur.com/OKtgcqX.jpg

Screenshot 3: The map machine. I built it up to look like more of a device. The table with the hanging planets along with a low fire pit create the illusion of a damaged machine, the planets even spin! I used a well to clean the sides up and add to the stone ruins look of the place. On the sides I wanted it to feel a little overgrown.

Screenshot 4: That exile sitting by the wall doesn't look like he had a very good time in there...

Screenshot 5: A closer look at the ancient ship remains, along with another exile who's just relaxing there, adding to the sheltered feel of this place.

Screenshot 6: Here we see the ruins of a reclusive artisans lair.

Screenshot 7: It leads to a former workshop, now inhabited by more of those exiles.

Screenshot 8: And here lies our reclusive sage, still radiating powers from the grave.. And look who's attention that drew...

Well that does it for my entry. I had fun building it and I really love the hideout feature all around. Thanks for putting it in there and I hope you enjoyed what I did with it. :P
THE FORGOTTEN VAAL ISLAND

The hideout was created in standard league.

During ancient times, that pyramid was used as a secret entry point to the Oversoul's chamber.
It is said that a sorcerer took 3 years to successfully redirect the arcane flow to Wraeclast main waypoint stream.

Zana, the master cartographer, took advantage of the corrupted energy from the island to perform some experiments on space travel.
Therefore, she decided to turn that dying tree into a hut for her work.

On the very left of the pyramid can be found the old statue of a Vaal goddess, burning into an unholy fire.
A bit above, an abandoned temple was exploited for magic crafting.

Inside the temple, some old manuscripts were left intact.
According to what Elreon could understand, they are all about betrayal and evil plans.

That area is where some exiles regularly take their chances in the darkest places of Wraeclast.
The map device was altered by Zana using an old Vaal vessel.
Elreon is always there when it comes to equipment.

Leo is the man of faith, and is regularly followed by his believers.
Catarina never loses a chance to recycle the energy that comes from unlucky exiles.

The second Vaal statue was purified from its corruption, to improve the balance of the island.
It is said she now delivers good fortune to a few chosen warriors.

Obviously a long time ago, a lone whale must have adventured too close to the island, fatally trapped by the force of the corruption.
