To veritaserum. You can craft on rings only flat ele dmg for attack, not spell.
For EE:
a) Blade vortex + flat cold for spell (dagger prefix or herald of ice)
b) Ice nova/Frezing pulse
c) Flat cold for attacks (dagger prefix, ring prefix or herald of ice)

I think use flat fire/light in b) case makes not too much profit, cause discharge deal more dmg then cold spell. So flat life/es on ring and leech on dagger is better.

Seems BV is best option, cause it generate power charges and proc EE in AoE.

ofc we cannot roll spell flat dmg on ring and so on, but also not on dagger. its ele dmg is flat attack dmg. not spell.

Just what I wanted to write.
The guide on main page still mentiones crafting flat fire, even through the only thing it does is increases the damage for Ice Nova, which is negligible compared to Discharge.

What I don't get is, why MatrixFactor mentioned that he prefferred to use Ice Nova with legacy flasks?
BV should deal more damage, since its phys and doesn't care about resists, and it should apply EE better since it hits 2 times a second even if you aren't doing anything at all, while Ice Nova may not proc for some time.

while testing indeed BV seems best option. but what i not understand why u write that BV does trigger any EE. since we use only no dps auras's , wyh should its pure phys trigger anything?

hmm my thoughts are like this atm:

BV 6L + cold flat attack dmg on gear ist best. For Single Target+ Area


AREA ->

bad +25% RES EE on Area DMG from Dischrage itself(A hit carrying all three elements types will give +25% to all elemental Resistances.[1]) BV no ee trigger also pure phys.
only directly hittetd mobs have good -50 to 2 ele(fire+light), one 25+(cold) EE

ok for mob packs

SINGLE ->

EE through cylcone with flat cold (good -50 to 2 ele(fire+light), one 25+(cold) )
next explosions through Discharge powerfull.(main source of power is fire&light(end+pwf charges)
BW keep chrages max

Dagger mods:
(Global) Adds # minimum Cold Damage to Spells, Adds # maximum Cold Damage to Spells

With this mod BV will trigger EE.

Get + flat cold on a ring, and now you have 2 sources of EE for discharge, which have absolutely no downsides at all, except taking up mod space.

what is this ?`some poe items

what we can see we have extra mods for spell dmg
and spell dmog mods for local attacks dmg of weapon, seems logical

and in this thread look at the dagger from morerain, we have flat local ele attack dmg
just for cylcone relevant.
