Also cold on dagger will be ideal when we switch to blade vortex.

On 5L with no 2nd spell, and no elem damage on cyclones EE is purely bad. But just get elem damage and you're good to go.

Yeah, I am very curious about this. The gearing requirements would be massively lower given that you wouldn't need Voll's Devotion. Voll's Protector could also be swapped out for a tankier chest or something like Carcass Jack. I'm also wondering how the tree might be altered and if it makes sense to actually use Cyclone as a damage source (since you could at least partially scale it with phys nodes that also buff vortex) or if RF might be an interesting possibility for a ton more spell damage. RF could be a lot easier with the new 2% life regen implicit talisman. Of course an RF build would probably be better off as a pure life build although hybrid might still be doable. I've done Lowlife RF before and while the gearing is very tricky it can be done.

Of course, BV also opens up the possibility of scaling off Hatred and Herald of Ash as well. Leveling could be very straightforward by selfcasting as crit BV, EK, or Bladefall and smoothly transitioning to CoC once you get the dagger crafted.

I imagine the elreon jewelry is a lot less key now with the mana cost reductions and increase to base mana.


Overall it seems a lot easier to go CoC BV but I just have no idea if the damage would be competitive with discharge.

Pretty much same tree as previous patch, just pathing in shadow a bit different.
I'm at 97 so i'm afforded to get some extra defence with the points.
Getting the life/chaos nodes and chaos jewels is a defensive preference of mine.
