Hi there and nice build :).

I plan on using this build for the new league and I want to play Blast Rain with it!
Should I rather take the Physical to Ele, 165% life, VP, more damage or Pure Elemental skill tree?

What are the differences in playstyle and most important gear choices? Differen supportgems?

Any last but not least, can I play this build without taking point blank or will the damage be too low? I just don't like facetanking mobs all the time if it's not really necessary.

You don't have to use point blank, in fact at high gear levels or on HC, I prefer not to take Point Blank. But it is a very good node on SC.

I'd probably take the high life build. Pure ele was for ele bows, but I removed it as I don't have the gear yet.

Is this build viable if I would go for Scion instead of going for Ranger?
And if so what would be the benefits of Ranger over Scion and Scion over Ranger?

You could go Scion, the upside is the jewels but their start is inefficient. Scion is good for when you have currency to roll shitloads of jewels.
