Just did Malachi in Merciless

So how exactly do I use Rise of the Phoenix with my Marohi Erqi?

My other build does use it, but its a very different build, and no, I do not have any problem whatsoever with Atziri on that build, I can carry parties through the entire Atziri map if needed.

And yes, Uber Atziri Trio is very hard. Need to get better.

Also, there was a mistake in my post above. I can do her on my Marohi cycloner, but not deathless. Maybe now I could, with the new Brazil server and lockstep (lockstep was unplayable for me before).

Malachai is my most hated boss because he summons a shit ton of adds, summons a shit ton of ground effets, spams AoEs constantly, AND HIS ALL CAPS "YOU ARE BEING SELFISH" line is annoying.

During the fight there is often so many adds surging in corralling me into ground effects, projectiles, or his Gate of Hentai that I spend most of the time killing the adds and damaging Malachai by collateral.

Daresso is my favorite fight since its a true 1v1, the lead up to it is fun, and he actually wants to fight you not cause you are ruining some plan of his but to defend his honor, his title, and because he wants to fight you.

I did not enjoy Malachai nor any of the sub-bosses before Malachai.
I enjoyed Kaom and Daresso. Good fights, nice instances towards the bosses.
The instances towards Malachai are ugly and not enjoyable. Malachai himself is a bit of a long fight. I think it took me 3 minutes with an infamous legacy Mjolner build. I got killed too by the smashes. The 'big' smashes from the previous bosses cause around 30% damage on my tanky build. Smashes from bosses upto lvl 79 (haven't done higher) has been no problem at all. The smash of Malachai is instant rip. I don't think it's pretty balanced that a 120ex build aimed at taking damage can't handle the Malachai smash. How will the regular builds do from beginning players? I can only wonder... I don't think that kiting the entire fight is a good design for a boss fight.

I am pretty sure I could tank the smashes from Malachai with my "beginner" less-than-10-ex build, which coincidentally was in fact my first build (lots of armour, fortify + 8 endurance charges). There are several different smashes though, so not entirely sure.
