Act 4 Normal Sucks and Is Way Too Hard

Yeah Act 4 Bosses just suck on normal. With selffound its just a boring respawn grind. Was a short reawakening of PoE for me.
I just gonna +1 and agree with all that is being said here.

Act 4 is more difficult than act 2 of the following difficulty. HP isnt even the issue, it is the damage. A 10 minute boss fight is fun; but not if you die in 1 hit, and there are 1000 shots per second going off. Mobs are the same way; I am happy to see voidbearers, they are the easiest mob in act 4.

A major problem is going from cruel to merciless. All of the act 4 content is level 55-57 in cruel. Act 3 is level 50-52 (And no one wants to farm gardens anyway). There is a huge step up in difficulty, with no where to fall back to for some extra EXP. Then you beat it, and go on to merciless, where the entire first act is 56-57, and is literally twice as easy as the act you just completed.
I can see that some of you that found it hard have never played Titan Quest. That end boss, now THAT was hard!

Some of the stuff I have read in this thread, is frankly, unbelievable. Someone took a high level character to normal and died to Malachai? NO WAY
Censored.

Just finished A4 normal... The spike in damage is crazy... Kinda makes you feel like a moron when you sleepwalk through 3 whole acts, destroying bosses in seconds and then get massacred in an instance.

The problem for me is the short length of the act. It feels as if there's a zone missing in between Belly and Kaom/Daresso.

I started fresh in Warbands to experience the changes as GGG intended but it seems they missed the mark a bit.

Hoping to see some tuning so the difficulty scales more consistently.
Normal should never, ever, be a gear/build check, period.

Normal is all about figuring out what you're going to work towards. Cruel exists to test out a build in a more challenging environment. Merciless exists to push that build to it's limits. A4 normal should not push someone to their limit.
I've got no way to see how many hours ive sunk in this game but ive got quite a few 80+ chars and maybe a dozen others in various stages. I love new content. I have some issue with Malachai though. This is post nerf to him and my experience has only been with a summoner in normal.

Killing Malachai took 15-25 minutes and 10 deaths at +3 levels of the zone. A big issue for me wasn't really avoiding the damage and AOE's but getting dps and applying it in useful times. A glaring problem for summoners is the lack of useful corpses in that last room. I spammed SRS as much as i could before id have to move and kept a skelly totem up and that was the extent of my available dps. So i was missing the 9 zombies and 4 spectres available to me at that time. (Not to mention i had nothing to use Flesh Offering on) This could just be a problem with summoners that they'd need to change some things up for just this fight- but at the same time i'm a bit disappointed there cant be usable corpses on field that are killed by me. Dominus fight doesn't have this issue.

I like the fight it just could use some more tweaking from the experience i had there. I've yet to try it out with some other characters.

Amazing..
Sounds just like the time when act 3/Dominius was introduced.
Do people rush in and facetank everything and stand still??
I have just killed Malachai with my 1st char (HC) ,(Selfound and solo from lv1.)
No good gear,no "best" build.(Iceshot Scion) Lv 46 so a bit overlvd.(1.5K HP)
I did however prep. for the fight ,checked out some videos and made sure I had max resists, changed golem from ice to chaos.used conversion trap frequently.
It took some time and patience , but Too hard?? nah..and the other bosses was very easy ,but took some time though.Piety? just run in a circle to avoid the beam.Dps when she stops..Not that complicated really.

I really hope GGG dont dumb down the game (anymore) I remember when Hailrake was a very scary encounter ..now hes a pussy.
Just a note..Im not by any meens an hardcore player.

Grats. You know they nerfed him yesterday? It's not that big a problem now.

If you had tried beforehand, you would be levelling a new char right now.
You know how I know that all the act 4 boss fights are horribly designed? Just cleared them all so far by letting my witch die and have the minions kill the boss. Any game where it is easier to clear a boss dead because of bad damage design is poor.

I've played TQ a long time ago and I cannot remember the difficulty of the last boss(though I remember the mechanic, something like final boss of d3). I remember the absurdly designed banshee packs and the notorious 1-shot shockwave iron-golem gating the final boss's entrance...
Two-handed - Mop
Dual Wield - Slippers
One-handed & Shield (close combat) - Brush & Basin
One-handed & Shield (ranged) - Hair Dryer & Mirror
Main-hand & Off-hand (evil witch) - Sponge & Soap
