Hello.
My flame totem tool-tip is ~4.5K damage without vaal haste / herald of thunder , on a 4L tri-res armor, my gems are ~lvl 18. On your video you talk about ~15K on a 5L. I'm not sure on what to focus next to improve my DPS. My gems at level 20 + the 5th gem on 5L will get me +10K more DPS or am i doing something wrong ? :D Last edited by mhz75#0255 on Dec 13, 2015, 11:09:48 PM

I know the YouTube says that witch is optimal, but how do Templar, Scion, and Marauder stack up in comparison, generally? Is there something important one can reach that the others cannot? Does one have more wasted passive points spent?
I know the Scion can get an extra jewel slot or two, marauder gets more HP, witch gets cast speed, and templar gets spell damage, but that's about the limit of my knowledge for major differences. Those might even be the only differences for all I know, but I'm unsure which one to play right now so hopefully somebody has a good idea. The video was made a while ago after all, not sure if witch is still the best way to go. Extra jewels from scion or extra health for blood magic from marauder would almost seem better to me than the cast speed from witch, possibly even better than the bonus damage from templar, but I would love to get some opinions since I haven't touched this game in so long. Already wrote under your video, I just thought I give some feedback here.
I'm starting merciless now and had a lucky 5L drop. The armor I rolled is okay. Can't wait to farm some decent gear today, so I can buy the Infernal Mantle. It's a lot of fun, thanks for the build. I haven't played in a long time, so this was an amazing start for me in the new league. :D The only time I died (yeah happened a couple of times), was because of lag spike yesterday evening and in Act 4. In my defense I played this Act for the first time and I was pretty hyped. Otherwise it feels incredible save! TY! IGN: Qwib_Cleave [Delve League SC]

Inspired from this guide and started Talisman Leauge, i must say it is not being success for me. DPS is mediocre definitely not amazing. I crafted +2 Fire Gem Skills Staff with 5L but meh, tooltip Dps is 8700+, even w/o mf gear clear speed it OKish.
That cast speed nerf... And patch notes says totem's damage would be same as level 21 but i'm not sure about it, lots of experienced players say it is way lower than before. I made couple of changes, if that is because of my build that would be great to get advices for re-spec some of nodes: poeurl.com/ub6 Btw i went for Faith and Steel for Energised Armour Jewel which adds me lots of survibility. Another thing which bothers me is the requirement Dex stats for just Faster Proj Support. I dont have Vaal Haste atm but if there is a possibility to give up both green gems, not taking useless Dex from gear would be much more efficient. I am thinking about trying this, Empower-Faster Casting-Controlled Dest-F.Pen-IW support gems. Still trying to improve, but when i compare with the other builds Flame Totem does not look promising imo. Last edited by Belanir#1332 on Dec 14, 2015, 10:38:30 AM

" I'm having a similar experience. I am currently lvl 75, have 3.5khp, 1k es, 4000armor, 60/75/60 rez (2 levels away from fixing that), and flame totem tooltip is 6k dps. I have 6 soc, 4L infernal mantle, rare wand, lions shield, clear mind gem, and other decent at best gear. So far my clear speed has been MUCH lower then i was led to beleive it would be, while still being susceptible to getting burst down (esp since i don't kill things as fast as promoted). I really wanted a char with fast clear speed to start with so i could farm some currency and make a more interesting 2d char. Thus far i have been following the build to a T and i'm starting to loose a bit of faith in it. I completely agree with the dex sentiment, the +30 node is almost mandatory, and even then i've had to craft dex on many pieces of gear just to keep my gems equipped. If there is a better replacement, i would be anxious to hear it. I definitely CAN clear maps, but it is slower and less safe then i was expecting based on the hype of dual totem builds. Really, the biggest improvement i can make to my dps atm, aside from leveling gems and getting that 5L (120 fusings and no 5 link in 6 socket ><), is investing in the apeps. I'm sure that the 5L, 1 more level on flame totem gem, and apep would increase my dps substantially, but i'm not entirely convinced this will be enough to double or triple my clear speeds (which is what i am hoping for). |

Hi there, I just wanted to say thanks for posting this build. I had previously created another character following your Marauder Cyclone build which was ALOT of fun.
I had a high level witch that I had created when I first started playing PoE but was sitting around unused because of various issues such as poor build, misallocated skill points, etc. (Hey, it was my first character so what can I say?). When 2.1 came out along with the skill point reset, I decided to spec into your dual FT build. I must say that I am enjoying it a lot so far. However, one thing that I've noticed is that in maps where there are just a TON of mobs and very small areas to move around, I died very fast. In areas where I could run away, no problems. I suspect it may be due to my character being stunned and not being able to get away. For example, in the Piety fight in the Belly of the Beast, those tiny creatures would stun me which would cause me to get hit with her rotating beam attack -- one hit and I'm dead no time to even hit a staunching flask. I am using Geofri's Crown where I've slotted FT, faster projectile, fire penetration and controlled destruction. I also have Lioneye's Remorse and Doryani's Invitation. To help me with survivability, I've made some minor changes to your build and wanted to get your take on it. First, instead of using Infernal Mantle, I switched to Soul Mantle to get that third totem. So what I've been doing is casting Decoy totem, then casting the two flame totems. This seems to do wonders for me as the mobs are focused on the decoy totem. And the decoy totems sure last a long time (even without any support gems except increased area of effect), even being hit with a whole screen of mobs. I seldomly have to recast decoy totem unless its being hit by a lot of mobs plus mini-bosses/rogue exiles/etc. The clear speed is awesome and much safer too. Second, I have CWDT (level 9) slotted with immortal call (level 11), molten shell (level 14), and tempest shield (level 12). This seems to help with survivability a lot for me. Third, on boss fights I will usually switch out Herald of Thunder for Arctic Armor (level 12) and switch out Flame Golem for the Chaos Golem. Other than these minor changes, I am very happy with this build so far. I am only level 76 right now which is my highest level toon. I've started playing around with maps as they seem to drop with more frequency now that my toon is higher level. I've been using the vendor recipes to get next higher tier maps. So again, thank you for a well written build and exceptional video for it too! |
