[2.2 Video Guide] Beginner's Build: Dual Flame Totem, Blood Magic Chieftain [Atziri & HC/SC Viable]

I don't think Faster Casting got nerfed, it looks the same as before.

The reason the FT's DPS went down is because the base cast rate of the totem was slowed from 0.2s to 0.25s, effectively dropping base cast rate from 5 per second to 4 per second. They increased the damage to compensate, but from what I've calculated, they didn't boost it enough to compensate properly, so even at level 21 where they claim the effective DPS difference is 0% I still see the new numbers being lower.

Can't wait to see the Talisman update for this build, I'm holding off starting the league until it's up. I know some people find the passive nature to be not as much fun to play but it's easily the best time I've had with this game. So many flame throwers.

Okay thanks DarkRogue, that base cast rate reduction explains it then.
Wanted to share my find that is helping to blow through Normal.

It has been fun wasting everything on the map so far. I realize that Cruel and Merciless will be quite different and I'll have to find a replacement ammy but so far so fun and also at least 4 link my gem, soon.
Rose: You're an alien? You sound like you're from the North.
Doctor: LOTS of planets have a North!!!

The damage won't rise 51% because the Jewel is not a 'more' modifier, it's an 'increased' modifier, which means it stacks additively with all other 'increased' modifiers. Keep in mind Iron Will also provides an 'increased' modifier, so you already have a large amount of spell damage increases. This means added the 51% from Clear Mind won't bring as large a difference -- it still helps, but going from like 400% to 450% is relatively lower than going from 0% to 50%, though they still provide the same actual bonus.

I've thought about doing the full conversion to Chaos as well, but I didn't feel like it offered all that much -- you free up Fire Penetration, but lose the ability to curse enemies to make them weaker against Chaos Damage, although I wonder how well Wither would work as a replacement 'curse' here. Reflect wasn't an issue to begin with, so that point of Chaos Damage doesn't mean too much. My plan if I did the full Chaos Conversion though was to slot in both Controlled Destruction and Void Manipulation to stack their 'more' modifiers.

I do hope that you understand your Added Chaos Damage gem in your Infernal Mantle doesn't do anything since it's not linked to Flame Totem, though. It's okay if you just wanted to level it alongside everything else, but it doesn't add anything to the FT.

Thank you for the explanation about the modifiers, now I get the differences.

For now I'll stick with chaos only and as you suggested I'm testing Void Manipulation, and I'm ~16Kdps , a full 3k boost even at low level gem.
The only downside is loosing Faster Projectiles, I've to get used to the reduced "range".

On the added chaos,I know it is useless for dps there, but really can't afford a 6L chest right now, and I dubt that's such a game changer anyway.
Actually, before I sit around for no reason, how much updating does the skill web need? I wanted to see the updated setup before jumping in since it's so hard to take back decisions and I have no real interest in leveling the same character twice in the same season, but if there aren't really any changes I could stop sitting around and actually play.
Hallo,

is there a change in the skilltree or is it pre 2.1?
Couldn´t find a note about it. Thanks.
Thanks for the information. I tried summon skeletons but they are little bit too fragile to my taste maybe. Liking Vaal skeletons a ton tho.

Just two additional questions since I have been away two years and haven't read everything in here. Isn't Flame Dash be just better than Lightning Warp since you don't even need less duration gem with that?

Also being on lvl 63 now starting maps soon. Is there particular mods that should be avoided? Some bosses that are particularly nasty (How about that fast lightning librarian for example?) or generally strong bosses that are easy? Biggest weakness for the build have been ultra fast mobs and strongboxes where I probably RIP in some point.
Still want to know why not Sire of Shards?

It's the same as in 2.0.
