[2.2 Video Guide] Beginner's Build: Dual Flame Totem, Blood Magic Chieftain [Atziri & HC/SC Viable]

any loot filters for this build?
is it worth investing in a +20% quality gem for this build or not really? Is +20% totem life that valuable or not really?
*20% on Flame Totem is not worth to buy in my opinion. Quality on FC and FP is nice, but i managed fine with getting my gems to level 20 and than using the vendor recipe for 20% level one gem.
I'm at level 90 now with just self found gear. One of the easiest builds around.
Infernal Mantle is nice for this build, but how do you suggest getting 3 red and 1 green socket on it with 180 int requirement? :)

Note: Not even Voraci can do that O.o
What is more beneficial:

1) Getting a 5L Infernal Mantle (so leaving out added chaos)

or 2) Getting Tabula Rasa and using Added Chaos?

I can't afford both to test with, so I'd like advice before buying one or the other.

hi, i am wondering why u use an physical shield instead of a spirit shield? is so important the armor vs the damage who will give the spirit sheild (plus the energy shield).
Hey guys and girls!

I quite like this build. I'm doing a MF version. Currently, at lv58 I have the following stats in cruel:
2450 life
3400 tooltip dps
resists maxed all (+15% the least)
180% IIR
60% IIQ

My gear:

And the Clear mind jewel with 49% increased spell damage.

Build choices:
-I chose Iron will over increased projectile speed; I have some on gear and Iron will has a much bigger DPS increase.
-IIR and IIQ is chosen over pure DPS (added chaos and increased projectile speed are dropped)
-I'm planning to level in the direction of strength, totem buffs and life instead of spell/fire-damage and intelligence now. With iron will it gives Life and DPS and I have just enough intelligence to gear and level skillgems.
-Flame golem is my only "buff", heralds and aura's are omitted for the sake of extra life.

My Passive tree now:

I'm looking for gearing advices going to merciless. What should I focuss on now, life or offense? What should be a good end-goal for mapping tooltip-DPS and life wise? What is the bare minimum for good map survivability? It's hard getting more life without going down in MF, and MF is my main concern.

I'm planning to use passives for elemental max resist in merc so despite not being optimal that is not a concern gearing wise.

Happy hunting Exiles!

OP, thanks for taking the time to share this build. I originally found it over in YouTube. Sharing my appreciation here as well.

I'm enjoying PoE and have gotten to level 21 so far (first character, first time here) with this build. I haven't unlocked all of the keys to their build yet, but enjoying the single flame totem so far. Can't wait to get blood magic and ancestral bond working later.

At any rate, looking forward to a build to minimize clicks, which in turns minimizes further wrist damage and carpal tunnel. I wear wrist braces on by wrists while gaming to prevent future damage and so that I can by brace-free in the rest of my life. Decades of gaming have made me a carpal tunnel candidate. This build lets me enjoy PoE while minimizing wrist pain.

Hey there,

I want to first thank you for this build, and your video guide. Back when I was trying to figure out something to do for a MF/farming character, I looked at various options, and settled on a Dual Flame Totem (mostly because one of my friends at the time chose a Ranger as a farm character, which was my other consideration.) I really liked that you tried to explain the 'why' in your video, and not just the 'here, do this just because' which I find infuriating.

I looked at and compared the various dual Flame Totem builds in this forum, trying to pick out the best qualities of each one to put together as it suited my needs, but ended up with a build that is very largely similar to yours.

As this was for a farming character, my priorities were a little different, but I wanted to ask if you could help me fine-tune this character, as I'm feeling very squishy and not very damaging.

My current build is this:

In terms of raw DPS, I suppose it's not terrible, but I feel it can be much better. I'm running a 5L Infernal Mantle right now:

With this, my DPS with the Flame Golem and HoT up is about 13.3k.

I also run Zombies linked to my Flame Golem set, as well as Vaal Summon Skeletons for added distraction. My whole play style here is to throw as much stuff as I can between the enemy and myself so that I can run around while the FT's burn everything down. I also tend to recast my FT's extremely often.

I wanted to boost this damage a bit more, but my primary issue right now is my squishiness. I need to redo my gear to get a bit more life, and more importantly, resists -- I currently have about 3.6k life, but only 3.1k usable after the HoT reservation (and about 1k ES) but none of my resists are capped.

If that was all, it'd be relatively simple to get life+resist gear and call it a day, but as this is my farm character, I'm struggling to figure out how to accomplish these two goals while maintaining a high amount of IIR/IIQ. I was willing to sacrifice some survivability for IIR/IIQ, but I think I may have gone too far in that direction.

One thing I wanted to do was to try using the Three Dragons, as this would give me 30% resists to all elements, as well as allow my Flame Totems to shock, which should theoretically increase their effective damage output. However, I'm currently using this helmet I found (all of my gear currently is self-found) which gives me 41% IIR:

Using the Three Dragons means I'd have to make up that IIR elsewhere -- I want to try and maintain 200% IIR and ~40% IIQ. (I will also be replacing the Rejuvenation Totem and the Raise Spectre -- the Totem was almost exclusively to keep the Spectre alive, but at high levels without any minion skills, it dies way too quickly to be worthwhile. I'll replace them with a CwDT+IC+Frost Wall setup.)

The rest of my gear is currently:

It's all a random hodgepodge of stuff I've found, so none of it is exactly optimal. having said that, the Sadima's Touch and Perandus Blazon are currently giving me a decent amount of IIQ. I recall reading that IIQ (the gem) was removed because it unbalanced things, so I put slightly more weight into the IIQ uniques I found. I don't know if this is the right way to approach it though.

I can replace the shield with the Sentari's Answer for another 8% IIQ, and Goldwyrm for another 20% or so, but then my IIR seems to suffer. I do have the Aurseize available which would give some more resists and 42% IIR for my pair, but I'm not sure whether it's better than the Sadima's Touch, especially considering the fact that it slows me down by 5%.

For the accessories, they're also currently random, trashy IIR stuff with little in the way of defenses. I'll have to replace them, but I was also thinking of switching up my build a bit to get some Crit to try and boost my Totem's damage a bit more. In this case, since it's tough to generate charges with the FT, I was thinking of using the Romira's Banquet ring and Incinerate. This, of course, means one ring slot will be consumed as well (I think I need to find just one more Feast card to get one.) I also thought about using the Voll's Devotion in the amulet slot, but that thing is crazy expensive, so I don't think I'll ever actually get one.

For the tree, instead of going up to Heart of Flame, I was thinking of branching out to grab Shaman's Dominion and Annihilation, as they are very close to the current path for some Crit. As well, between the existing nodes and Iron Will, it seems like there's a huge amount of Spell Damage in there already, and I'd rather look for more cast speed and Crit to support it.

Simultaneously, I am thinking of (once I get the resists and Dex requirements sorted) respecing out of Diamond Skin and Practical Application and opening up another Jewel socket for Rain of Splinters -- there would probably be a 40% reduction in damage, but two more projectiles might more than make up for that, I think. I should mention I did find a 59% Clear Mind jewel I am currently using. What are your thoughts on using Rain of Splinters?

Finally, on the point of increasing FT damage, would it be worth the time to try and re-chrom my Infernal Mantle to have 4 Red sockets? Since FT has a low damage effectiveness rating, I was thinking that if I can use the Three Dragons to cause my FT's to shock normally, I can replace the Added Lightning Damage gem with something else. More spell damage I feel would have a more limited effect than raising the base damage, as FT casts really quickly, but each cast seems to do fairly low base damage. In this case, I was thinking of FT > Fire Pen > Iron Will > Empower > Faster Casting (> Increased Crit or Added Chaos, whenever I get a 6L.) Empower should be able to increase the base damage of FT far more than any other gem I can put in there, I think, and then it would be further modified by all of the spell damage bonuses. What do you think?

Sorry for the huge number of questions and semi-rambling, but I'm getting really confused over myself because I am trying to consider so many different things all at once, and would love some guidance from the more experienced players.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

did anybody test GMP (greater multiple projectiles) or LMP (lesser multiple projectiles) on the totems ? (with another combo of gems if required)
is it worth it ? (and working)
