[2.2 Video Guide] Beginner's Build: Dual Flame Totem, Blood Magic Chieftain [Atziri & HC/SC Viable]
I have a level 88 dual flame totem witch created pretty much following this guide. I have never taken her into the very high level maps or after Atziri. I am getting ready to give them a try but am going to have to change out some of my items. I am also going to have to get a bit tougher and add more life to survive. The first item I intend to equip is The Lyoneye's Remorse Shield. This will cause me to lose some damage but greatly increase life and armor. What I am worried about is losing the Hrimnor's Resolve Helmet I am wearing. It has the 540 armor and the 36% increased fire damage but will have to be changed out to get more resists. I will also lose life but gain 23% fire damage by wearing Doryani's belt. Basically is the shield going to make me tough enough to play at these higher levels?
My totem does over 13,ooo damage now and will probably be close to that after the switchout. But I only have 4,200 life and probably will be close to that afterwards. Do I need to give up a little damage and add some life? |

Is this build buffed or nerfed in 2.1 update?
|
|
I think it has been buffed because of the small lategame flame totem buff

Seems to be a slight Damage increase.
Now all of the following can be taken with a grain of salt. But here is what the new 2.1 Passive Skill Tree Planner that you can find on r/pathofexilebuilds says has changed for me personally. This is with no gear passive tree 112 Witch. Changes 2.1 Spell From 57% Spell Damage to 73%. (Note: This seems to be the major change to me.) 16% increased elemental damage to not even listed. (Note: Wondering if this is something changed in the passive skill tree planner or maybe a bug with it. Should still be there just seems to be not listed on the new one.) Everything Else 3% increased effect of Non Curse Auras you cast. (Note: Think this was just changed wording from 3% increased effect of Auras you cast.) 20% increased Stun Threshold. (Note: Have no idea where this came from. May have been there all along and the new passive skill tree planner now shows it.) |

The damage should be the same, as nothing really changed. The Witch's Elemental Dominion notable is now called "Occultist's Dominion" and the old +16% Elemental Damage with Spells is now changed to +16% Spell Damage (likely to account for the new Chaos and Physical spells.) This is technically a slight buff in that respect as it applies to more spells, but for this build, there's no difference. Fire Damage = Elemental Damage = Spell Damage. It explains the 16% difference you are seeing in your summary.
As far as the Stun Threshold goes, the 20% was added to the Warrior's Blood notable in the Marauder area. I do wonder if this build is still being updated and/or maintained, though. I haven't seen any responses by the OP in a little while here, and I never received any responses to the questions I posed earlier in this thread. |

Okay thanks for clarification on that stuff.
As for if still being updated. He may be back for 2.1 not sure. Right now his YouTube is filled with Fallout 4. But lots of peoples are. Last 2 POE videos was a news video about the announcement of 2.1 and a price check video. |

Build guide updated for 2.1
In 2.1 Flame Totem has received a nerf to early level damage. At the same time late game damage has been buffed for the skill. Overall this change makes this build a little slower to level, but more powerful at end-game, a change I am very happy with! =) The video attached to the guide (main post) is the same as for 2.0. The reason is that not much has changed. We use the same skill-gems and skill-tree as before. That said if any of you have suggestions on how to incorporate the new skill-gems into the build or just wanna share your creative ideas, feel free to do so! Best of luck bros! " I am definitely active. I did take a 5-week break from PoE however to play some Fallout 4 :) I am sorry that I haven't replied to your questions. I simply do not have the time to answer every question, as I have multiple build guides uploaded here. Fortunately there are many people who is willing to help instead. Thank you for that btw :) Weekly build guides: Youtube.com/LiftingNerdBro

What is your stance on the new searing bond buff? Do you think that has a place in this build or is dual flame totem simply stronger? Having used your cyclone maurader build to get to lvl 80, i'm contemplating rolling a totem witch for talisman (the cyclone nurf makes this even more appealing). I look forward to talisman and your future builds!

" Flame totem is without a doubt still stronger, and I honestly don't think it is necessary to add SB. It could be decent against bosses, but that's about it. Not worth the sockets imo. As a standalone build it can work great though. Weekly build guides: Youtube.com/LiftingNerdBro
