thanks for that guide :)
trying that build now.

few questions tho :

1. why herald of thunder ? does the bonus applies to totems ?
Yes, it applies.

"
2. what kind of weapon do you recommend while level ? automatically a wand ?
Flame Totems tend to scale very well with cast speed (especially with flat added damage to spells), which can only roll or be Master crafted onto Wands or Sceptres. If you're not doing a crit variant of this build, you don't need the crit from daggers anyway.

"
3. does the "adds 1-XX XX damage" on armor applies to totems ? (and more generally all the damage bonuses)
If it doesn't say "to spells" then nope, it doesn't benefit Flame Totems.

Bro, another pro build and guide, thank you for all the details. I hit level 79 with it with no problems at all. I want to know if you have an incinerate totem build in the works? From what I've read on the forums, incinerate would be more/faster dps than ft. The trees would be close, maybe drop BM for more casting speed?

thank you very much for your answers.

what about the CWDT setup.
any preference ?
as i can read that the one proposed in this build does not work anymore ?

If self-cast Enduring Cry, CWDT-IC-ID still works fine, but you have to be a lot more pre-emptive. If you omit EC, then CWDT-IC-ID can still work for multiple physical hits within a very short duration.

Other options include:

1. Molten Shell. Blocks physical damage after activation and increases armour. Needs to be linked to a decently leveled CWDT to be effective.

2. Defensive curses (Temp Chains, Enfeeble). Self explanatory.

3. Frost Wall. Blocks certain projectile attacks, can push away melee mobs. Potentially dangerous in small boss rooms as it can block you when you need to GFTO of a zone.

4. Phase Run. Removes collision, increases move speed, reduces visibility to enemies for a short duration. If you use this in 4L, put it in the bottom left socket or it will activate and almost instantly get cancelled by any other active skills cast by CWDT.

5. Summon Skeletons. Meat shields, self explanatory.

There are probably other good defensive options as well but the above are the more popular ones.

what do you mean by a decently leveled CWDT ?
i thought i had to keep CWDT to a low-level (e.g level 4/5) for it to be activated when i get hitted by 800/1000 life hits.

sorry for my faulty english

and thanks a lot for your explanations :) i will try a few options in your list !
In case you guys are wondering, then yes - this build is a very good choice for the 5-week Darkshrine Race.

Best of luck! =)

Should I just be looking for added fire to spells mod on a wand or the added fire mod good as well like in the wand below. It doesnt seem to make as much of a difference to dps vs the other two wands I'm trying to decide on below. Obviously this one is m issing cast speed.

Wand with both

other two

Guess I should have read to post above before asking my question :)
Have you considered Three Dragons head for the constant shock
or Emberwake Ring (if not going crit) ?

Is it worth it ?
i had a noob question but

why blood magic wont it take % of ur health from herald of the storm

all so i took some fire damage notes and it dident add dps to my flame totem

does it not work?

thanks
